Straightening Steamer

So what are the benefits of a straightening steamer? I know it's better than a flat iron but can it cause damage by lots of usage or is it great for your hair like a hooded steamer. Also, which is the best brand to buy. I am so curious and want to try straightening and curling my hair with a steamer. Any advice or information I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, I have owned both Maxiglides and the Babylis. No way Id ever go back to flat ironing. The steam also leaves your hair my mobile and bouncy and doesnt have that "burnt hair" smell. Its the 3rd video on this page http://www.youtube.com/user/audrachanell/videos?view=0

AudraChanell thanks so much for this tutorial. I am most def going on amazon tonight and buying one. This has got to be a god send. After watching this video I am so excited to try this on my hair and get the same cute curls that you got. Thanks for all the information. I have been worried about burning my hair and I want something that can help keep my ends in tack. I will be adding this to my fav videos.
