Vitamin C and MSM

I've done some reading online about it and there is conflicting info.
Some say that taking Vitamin C with MSM has no affect, yet some say that it does, but they don't say how much to take. I also read from one source that the ratio of MSM to Vitamin C should be 4:1 in order to receive the maximum benefit from the MSM. Since I am taking 3000 mg of MSM, I'd have to take 750 mg of Vitamin C to do that. The only Vitamin C I get, besides my food/drink, is the 60 mg in my multi-vitamin.

How much are you all taking of this combo?

I read to talk half as much Vitamin C as MSM. I take one (1000) in the morning with my multivitamin and I take two (1000) with one Vitamin C (1000) tab in the evening. The morning does not have the correct ratio but I don't worry about it.

At first glance it appears there is in fact a conflict on what the ratio is

OOO. i didn't know there was a specific ratio.
I take 5000 mg of MSM, and 2000mg of vitamin C.
I take 4 500mg tablets. that's all.

Thanks for the additional links and both of your inputs.

I've been reading other things too. For example, when you take vitamins/minerals over the RDA, it can change the rate that your body absorbs others. It could possibly even cause a deficiency in other needed vitamins/minerals. This seems logical to me.

metroqt, does all that msm make you go to the bathroom, not diarrhea, but almost as if you've had a good dose of fiber for the day? :) I've read that it can be a side effect. That's what happens to me.
