Just curious...

Do any of you ladies pray for hair growth/hair health? You really ask that? Is that a vain prayer? If you do this - what do you ask exactly and do you feel it worked?

I do in a way... I have a scalp condition so I pray for the strength for me to cope with it in a positive way ie: taking care of my hair and not going into depression over it. I don't think it's vain because it's a part of my body that he gave me and I know if something is too tough for me and then I can lean on him. I'm sorry if that's kinda dumb but I do feel it works. I remember more to do my scalp treatments, it doesn't bleed anymore, and I don't avoid going out in public because of it. I've actually noticed some growth.

The Word of God says we can pray His Word back unto Him and it will not return void. I do speak the Word over my hair/scalp. There is a scripture that even says "he knows the hairs of our head" I do believe in the power of our words...and it works. But I also put my faith in action by doing the natural things to achieve my goals...like deep cond, protective styling, etc...it works :)

I don't think there is anything wrong with asking with praying over any and every aspect of your Life and asking The Lord for guidance in properly taking care of your Hair.

For Restoration (if you've lost your hair) Strength (if you have weak hair) etc..You have not, because you ask not.

I don't think it's a Vain prayer at all if prayed in earnest expectation.

I know I'm expecting a Full Harvest & total Restoration.

I pray for total body health and strength. I don't call out hair specifically. I feel you are entitled to pray for what your heart truly desires.

No, I don't pray for anything hair related. My prayers are mostly in regards to world hunger issues, family, safety, and health.

I pray for success over everything that I start. It's His will that I prosper in all things.

What do I ask? First, I thank Him for the ability to bring the desires of my heart and those things that concern me to Him in prayer. Then, I thank Him for giving me long hair as a covering and a glory to me and ask that He would bless it so that it will continue to grow long, strong and healthy.

It absolutely helps. What am I able to do without Him? And then I move in expectancy doing the things that are in agreement with what I'm believing. I can plant the seeds and tend the garden but God gives the harvest and I'm always thankful.

I pray for my hair to grow when I'm worried about it. And I pray that the Lord blesses me to not stress and worry - which is the reason I have breakage in my crown now!

I do. At the top of my blog (which is a hair blog) is a prayer. I may not pray for my hair specifically every single time I pray, but I do indeed pray for my hair specifically amongst other things.

I pray. The bible says, "in all things, through prayer and supplication, let your requests be made known unto God". So I pray to God in all things that are important to me. Hair is your "crown & glory" and I believe God honors that prayer... :)

I pray for strength in dealing with my scalp issues, that I won't worry or focus on it, just let it be... That's it..can't say i've ever prayed for growth.

I do! God says ask and you shall receive. I want long healthy hair and who better to give that to me than God!

if it is part of your prosperity, why not!! Nothing is too small or shmeful to ask my dear Father! sometimes in front of my wardrobe, when i can't seem to choose what to wear, i will have a conversation with my God and ask his advice!

I'm only praying that I find the cause of my hair receding a bit: I hope it's hormonal or related to a medical issue that is minor and not a serious problem.

I'll admit I do! I don't think it's vain, it's something my heart desires along, with world peace, good health for everyone, etc.

Ask and you shall receive. I believe my prayer is working. It led me to this site to find all you wonderful ladies who have taught me so much about my hair.

Yes I do. I ask the Father to bless and guide me, and help me succeed. It's def not my only prayer but it is something I pray about. Having healthy hair is a blessing I can't go to anyone besides HIM.

I pray for everything, including my hair. I believe that the Lord is touched by everything that concerns me afterall it is declared in His word that a woman's hair is her crowning glory and He has created and numbered everyone of them.

I truly believe that my hair grows a lot faster when I remember to involve/include my Heavenly Father in this journey with me. Besides, I don't want to do this without Him anyway.

I have had setbacks when I left Him out and when I include Him again, every setback brings me a few giant steps closer to my goals.

Thank You Father for being concerned about my hair too.

~bows humbly before HIM~

Really nice thread pink219. I believe our Heavenly Father is pleased that we are involving Him even in this. I could feel it.

I do, everything including my hair, especially when I colour it and it works. His word is in everything.

I just started seriously praying God is concerned about everything that concerns me. the bible says he will perfect that which concerns me. He also says he will give us the victory. I am not defeated by shedding, breaking, etc hair.

My prayer when I get up in the morning and comb my hair is eactly what my siggy says.
I also ask him to let there be light so that I may see what is good for my hair and to teach me how to take care of it. I believe when God created humans he did not intend for all of us to look alike nor try to look alike. Our hair is beautiful in its natural state we just have to learn how to manage it.

Yes my prayers avail much. My hair line looks lovely and my hair is a forest. My ends are scraggly and need cutting ::sigh::

Prayer works #POW!
AMEN.

I meditate for hair growth and skin health. I declare it and act like I already have it. Then I proceed to do the things that make it all happen. I meditate for many many things personal and for others. So I have no problems wanting things for myself and believing for them.
In the past I have grown up under a certain religion, I found that a lot of it just promoted guilt all the time. You cant want anything for yourself without feeling vain? What is wrong with loving me and wanting my wants especially if I'm not hurting anybody. Nah son...I'm over that. I go by what resonates in my heart not what some culture has taught me to accept.--another thread of course but that's my $0.02

I pray for success and meeting all of the goals I set. My hair has grown a lot and its one of my goals to reach wl sooo I guess I do. :)
