After about 18 months of healthy hair care, I finally made APL!!!
(I feel like I have the longest torso ever! :lachen: I'm 5'8" btw) I owe it all to great info on this site. The main things that helped were half wigs, baggying to retain ends, and just leaving my hair alone. More pics in my fotki, feel free to check it out :yep:

These are some pics of my damp hair from Feb 2009 to my most recent relaxer in July 2010.

Not the best "APL" pic, but when it's all combed right, I feel like I made it!

My current regimen:

My WASH regimen (Once a week)
-Prepoo (oil, conditioners or both for anywhere from 30 min to overnight) ***as of Aug 2010, I don't really do this because I don't have time***
-Wash (2 lathers)
-Rinse and t-shirt dry for 5 min (I use the t-shirt like a towel/turban)
-Deep Condition (Always add oils and honey; leave on for one hour to overnight)
-Rinse and t-shirt dry for 5 min
-Apply Chi silk infusion or Biosilk and detangle with wide tooth comb
-Moisturize and seal with oil and place hair in a damp bun
-Scarf method to air dry and smooth edges

My COWASH Regimen (After workouts or whenever needed usually 3 times a week)
-Co wash with any conditioner
-T-shirt dry for 5 min
-Apply Chi silk infusion or Biosilk and detangle with wide tooth comb
-Moisturize and seal with oil and place hair in a damp bun
-Scarf method to air dry and smooth edges

My Daily Moisturizing Regimen (I usually do this twice a day, AM and PM)
-Divide hair into at least 4 sections
-Apply water based moisturizer from spray bottle (a cheapie conditioner mixed with water and oil, braid spray, wave nouveau and water, or s-curl and water, or just plain water!)
-Apply creamy moisturizer/creamy leave in (whatever I'm feeling at the moment; I have so many!)
-Seal each section with oil, and comb/to detangle lightly
-Baggy the bun and wrap with scarf or put on half wig, full wig, or ponytail

OTHER INFO
-I try to do a protein treatment or tea rinse at least twice a month
-I get a relaxer about every 10-12 weeks
-I'm done using topical growth aids; now I "use" water, healthy eating and exercise :)

What do you think helped you to retain most of your length? The damp bunning? I'm going to check your Fotki for pics of your damp bunning (if you have any in there). GORGeous hair!

Congrats!!! I like the last pics where you are smiling esp. the one on your siggy. Its a HHJ satisfaction smile:yep::yep:
