AfroVeda Response Letter.....

Ok I just saw this video by Tastiredbone on YouTube. Her interpretation of the letter had me :lachen:. It's a shame that they are pricing themselves right out of business.:nono:

WOW..................................................................................that's some bull from Afroveda right there!!!

Boo Boo da Fool :lachen:

Dang, if the products were that inconsistent to begin with... I wouldn't even be mad.

lol @ i aint bother to make no recipe! unrefined shea butter and aloe vera gel aint went up lmaaooo!

That letter made absolutely no sense!

But im not finna play with afroveda, im pretty much gonna buy butters elsewhere!

I was dying when she was like....I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I mix some crap in a jar, I ain't bother to make no recipe.

I believe all of that is true too, because you can buy one product from Afroveda and then go to repurchase, but get a completely different product with the same label on it. :lachen: :lachen:

LMBO this video is HILARIOUS! I don't buy Afroveda and never had plans on buying from them but they do seem trife after watching this.

I stopped using Afroveda after my first purchase. My hair did not like the Shea Amla or the Totally Twisted. I didn't get mad about spending money on them, so I gave them to my sister and she loves the products.

(in my best Flava Flav voice) WwOWWWWW! As much of a PJ I am.....dangit I better get quality for my $$$$...

I really like the Curl Define. I tried the Totally Twisted Ginger Almond Butter and was turned off. The ingredients seperated; there was a huge oil film on the top of the product. I'm not going say I will never purchase this product line. However, I will consider purchasing Curl Define with a coupon AND Free Shipping. I am also concerned about the Customer Service; it takes entirely too long for shipping. As a matter of fact, I think this increase help me to realize that I can make this stuff myself.

I have learned to never purchase ANYTHING that's not on sale. Everything goes on sale. (Even Miss Jessie's has a BOGO! Afroveda will need one after this bad publicity gets out there!

Ok she slayed me with the Boo Boo the clown face.

I don't use the products but I understand why the prices are going up pretty steeply.

Too late. It's all over youtube. Most people are saying that they cannot afford it anymore and that the products are inferior (spoil quickly, smell rotten and the consistency is different each time they order) as well as the shipping takes too long.

I never used their products so I cannot comment, but she is getting lots of publicity on youtube, due to what is apparently the second price hike this year.

It was probably not the best business decision to increase the prices BEFORE making improvements to the shipping time and being more consistent with the recipe.

She's funny!:lachen:I like her. I understand where she's coming from though. I've never purchased AfroVeda products but I think this ship is sinking fast with the price hikes for inferior products.

I think that some of these smaller businesses sometimes rush in without planning. She said there is only one person at the helm so this one person is trying to do everything. She should have sat down with a business professional and ironed out the foreseeable kinks ahead of time. You don't wait until the two year mark to realize that it's costing you more money to make and ship the product than you'll make in profit on each unit and then have a huge price hike. There's a difference to the consumer if you start out pricey as opposed to starting out affordable and then slamming them two years later.

BTW, is this company related at all to Hairveda? I haven't tried either line.

I agree. The person in the video is if I may say so a bit clueless about business. Aloe prices couldn't have gone up because whole foods hasn't raised the price? News flash - aloe prices fluctuate daily - whole foods is eating some of the cost and the vendor is taking the biggest hit. If the vendor price goes too high wf will drop them. Overall raw ingredients have gone up a whole lot over the past five years - this is the case for all raw materials not just the ones used to make hair products so shea butter's not exempt.

And one more thing 2 years is not a long time in business - she's still basically brand new and obviously is making mistakes (as anyone would in her shoes). Lots of indie businesses make the mistake of underpricing their products and then have to deal with the fall out when they realize they aren't making any money. As stated above she needs a professional adviser and probably would benefit a lot from some mentorship because as she's finding out business isn't just about mixing some butters, putting them in a jar and selling them to fans. In fact she should put this product line on hiatus until she works out some of the issues. Never used afroveda products and never even seen them in person but this is my opinion.
