LOL. I wish my mom's relatives did the youtube thing. They all have 4zzz, beady beady hair and they've always been able to grow long hair. They've always kept it simple. I feel her pain though. LOL!!!

I can honestly understand her frustration. I try all the time to get people (who are interested in being natural!!!) to listen to me and my tips and they look at me, look at my hair, at me and then are like "Um, my hair isn't like that."
It's just the natural version of "only mixed girls have that long hair" Sad but going natural won't change a mindset that preexisted when relaxed!

This lady is funnnay! She has a point - whenever anyone mentions long 4b hair, the same few names are thrown out. I can't begin to even count the longhaired (waistlength or longer) type 3s I've known IRL and see on the Internet - at least 20 right off the top of my head.

I kind of agree with her "eyebrow theory." You can almost certainly tell if a person is capable of thick, lush hair growth based on their facial hair (eyebrows, sideburns, etc). On the inverse though, some ppl, like my self, are capable of hair growth with minimal eyebrows to "predict" it. I rarely have to get them threaded, but my hair grows a little more than the average 1/2 in/ mo.

Can I ask yall a question? I know I'm a newbie, so excuse the ignorance, but what exactly is "5d" or "4z" hair?
Growing up, I was always told how "thick" and "coarse" my hair was (nice for "nappy"). Most of my hair is 4b, with the perimeter and back being 4a (I think). However, since joining the forum and looking at other ladies who claim 4zzzz hair and the like, I don't see much of a difference between theirs and mine. I wonder how many folks who claim 4z and up hair just think that because their moisturizing game isn't up to par, or they just haven't observed that many true 4b heads.

I hate it when people say things like "4B hair can't grow long", "i never see 4B hair that is long", "is 4B supposed to stay short?" yadi yada. If they want to know, why not try instead of complaining. Maybe if she takes care of her hair, she can show someone one day that if she could do it, they can too. With the attitude she got, I doubt she will ever have long hair.

Yeah! well the video is real but that girl has all natural hair and she should be about 4b and she is very funny she and her sister are comedians but she has been on youtube for a while. Look back on her videos...her old ones she is actually VERY intelligent don't let that video fool you.

bride91501 - The way I see it when people talk about 4zz or 5b hair they really have type 4b hair and they say those things out of frustration because it isn't easy to work with. I think keeping it properly moisturized can have something to do with it too. I have type 4a hair but if it isn't properly moisturized I can't get a comb through it without destroying my hair.
