Cornrow maintenance, Just need some things........

Cornrow maintenance, I just need some things clarified. I am considering getting this style

Style I want, the first three pics on top

and I ran into a couple of archives regarding cornrow maintenance. This lady is charging me 85 dollars to put the above style in so I'm trying to maintain it for at least 4 weeks at a time ...85.00 every 2 weeks is out.....so let me get this straight.

I should wipe my scalp every night with witch hazel....
Stay away from braid sprays use an water,olive oil, oil of choice mixture twice a day
Tie down my hair before bed to preven frizzies.
dilute my shampoo when washing or use ORG herbal rinse.

Question is, should I still do my hot oil treatments weekly, my protein treatments every other week, my deep conditoning with Lekair every week.....I've gotten so much information its getting all jumbled....

Anyone with cornrows or who have had cornrows put in and taken out successfully w/o any damage care to share their cornrow maintenace tips?????

I just took mine out Friday. I had them in for 3 weeks. I cleaned my scalp twice a week with witch hazel. I washed once a week and used braid spray twice a day. I didn't have any breakage or split ends.

i don't think you should conditon while in braids. it will get mess and cause frizz. wait till you take them out.
