dramatically long strand(s)

What causes it to be like that? Have you ever ran your hands through your let's say shoulder length hair, and it's one strand or strands that come to your waist and you are like how could that be? I would have noticed this before since I do my own hair. It has happened to me about 3 times and at first I was like Jewella and thought it was a shedded hair wrapped around another hair and so I tried to detach it only to find out it's attached to my scalp. How is this possible?

When one of my hairs shed, it's best friends around it don't want to say goodbye, so they latch on at the ends and form a double long strand

On a serious note, there are such things as lead hairs. These will be the first strands to reach your new length. I noticed a couple lead strands that are finally making their way to bsl. However, with shoulder length to waist, I think that's a dramatic difference. You are probably dealing with two hairs that didn't want to say goodbye.
