How to search LHCF while search is not working

1. Google search the following:

site:longhaircareforum.com your search term

Eg.
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=f8b95c6f3b5732e5

The next steps will only be necessary in the short term until Google gets the new forum links. Normally, you will be able to click and view threads from Google.

2. For any thread you would like to see, copy the number in the URL/address after t=. If you can't see the number, click on the link and get the number out of the URL bar.

eg. www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=485674

3. Substitute that number for the zeros in this URL:

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=000000

so you'd have:

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=485674

Hope this helps!

I do this all the time except, I just type in my question, put a slash and then put LHCF after it and lots of posts come up. Like this: Natural 4B / LHCF

Also a good tip! The one above is for when you want the links to be only LHCF. Thank you for posting!

No problem. I like the "quick and dirty" way - Especially when I know I saw something on LHCF and can't find it when the site is down. Too many steps and I quit. :look:

Easiest way:
- On any LHCF page, click on "Advanced Search" under the Search box.
- On the Advanced Search Page, check the "All Types" Box in the Search In area, type in your keywords in the Keywords box, then click Search Now button.

OMG, I think I love you!

I have been having the shakes without my beloved search. I think I use that function more than I use any other feature here.

Another way to do it. goo onto google and in the search box put whatever you're looking for in quotations then site: and whatever site you want the inforumation from. ex. "wet bunning" site:longhaircareforum.com

If any of you use Google Chrome as your browser, typing "www.longhaircareforum.com searchterm" will also work. You don't have to go to the google search page.

I don't know about you but the results of advanced search have been so random and mostly irrelevant, unlike before. I am sure it will be fixed eventuallyn but it definitely isn't being as good as before. Also, I only get a few results from the last few days then results from 2008 and before that.

It is as if 2009 and earlier this year never happened.
