I do have ONE more question about \"white\" perm...

How would virgin black hair (4) behave if you put a "white" perm on it, curling it with the rods and such?

Any thoughts? Thanks.

It would be a curly perm like a wave nouveau or Jherri curl effect I imagine.

Make sense!

I saw a picture of the new "jeri curl" and I really liked it. Of course, my stylist had already begun "relaxing" me for several months and it was too late.

I would have gotten it. It is very pretty. I've never seen anyone wear it though.

Thanks.

What you are calling "white" perms cannot be applied to tightly curled Black hair.

Those perms are made for straight or very loosely waved hair to give it more body and curl.

Tightly curled Black hair is ALREADY too textured for that.
That is the reason why we had Jheri curls which were formulated expecially for tightly curled natural hair to release the coils, yet achieve a looser curl.

Please don't go and have someone apply a "white" perm to your hair....unless you want an instant TWA (teenyweenyafro). /images/graemlins/grin.gif
