We should start a list of products that are similar in results. With all the changes in ingredients lately and the tempermental nature of what our hair likes each week, maybe this will help use find replacements or backups to some of our favorite products.

I'll start

Nexxus Botanoil shampoo = Elasta qp shampoo for relaxed hair- they even look and smell the same

BB Castor oil lotion=Profectiv growth lotion- both add stength and similar amounts of moisture

Dudleys DRC=Softsheen Duo tex

Elucence Extended Moisture Treatment=Elasta qp breakage control serum

Elasta qp recovery moisturizer= BB growth lotion

Hi Gymfreak...good thread!

Profectiv Mega Growth Deep Cond = Pantene Mask...makes the hair soft, manageable and gives hair strength.

Profectiv Mega Growth Lotion = Mizani H20...leaves the hair with moisture but not greasy and lots of body.

When I think of more I will be back...

nexxus heat protexx = tresemme heat tamer spray

the tresseme has almost the exact same ingredients as nexxus, so i use that one instead! and for less than $3.50 at wal-mart it's much nicer on my college-sized pockets than the protexx.

The DRC is a little stronger to me but Duo Tex is only 6 bucks.

chi silk infusion = ion silk drops! (maybe?)

i've never tried silk infusion, but the ion silk drops DEFINITELY makes my hair feel like silk. and it smells DELICIOUS! as in, sexy man delicious (reminds me of a mix of this cologne that my 1st boyfriend used to wear, axe body spray, and old spice deodorant)


this makes airdrying hair HEAVEN! today was the 1st time i was able to use a wide toothed comb through my airdried texturized mess! i can't wait until next wash, when i flat iron!

Suave has NOTHING on Nexxus, IMO. And as of right now, I like Humectress more than Humecto (more slip, I like the texture better, etc). I'll probably revisit Humecto before the year's over just to remember why I USED to be in love with it so...

General Value Products Sebastian Potion #9 Knockoff = Sebastian Potion #9.

I've used both and they are quite similar but the GVP version is only 5 bucks.
