Vegetarian hair products

Hi,

I'm transitioning to natural. Right now my hair is a little below bra-strap length and my last relaxer was in April. I've been using Aubrey Organics conditioners. I'd like to find some hair products (protein treatments included) that don't contain animal by-products (especially heat protectant treatments). Can anyone recommend some?

Bumping....

Does anyone know of any all-natural companies that only use plant based products? That would help.

Most of the natural companies I know of use honey, at the very least, and most also use beeswax - I seriously doubt you will find an all-natural vegan product. You might want to try googling for vegan beauty products, and start from there.

Google is going to be your best friend on this one. I know there are definitely some lines out there, I just can't remember their names. I don't even think AO is vegetarian.

Op there are lots of natural products you can use from the grocery store.

Natural oils (coconut, olive, avocado, wheat germ, etc.).
Coconut milk/cream (great conditioner)
Blackstrap molasses (act kind of like a protein)
Soy yogurt
Avocado
Aloe vera
Vegetable glycerin
Ayurvedic stuff: henna, the different powders
Teas
Bananas

I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Try luckyvitamin.com. I know they sell a lot or organic stuff. I order my organic stuff from there when I don't buy it from Whole Foods. HTH.

AO is vegan, the back of my condish says so. I'm really looking for my of a selection from a vegan co. because AO doesn't have many styling products.

Well, the best I can tell ya is to start making your own stuff. If vegan is your thing, that's how you'll be sure you get it. I'm not vegan, but I enjoy making my own stuff and knowing what's in it.

There are a lot. Im suprised you havent got more answers. Jessicurl is vegan. I have only tried the weekly deep treatment and its my staple deep condtioner. Darcys botanicals is also vegan. I think she use to use beeswax but doesnt any more. I just posted a review on some of her products. Here it is if you are interested: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=405998
