What do u do w/ products that \"failed\"?

OK...here is what I have gathered so far from you knowledgeable sistas:
1. Add oils to so-so conditioners
2. Dilute so-so condits and/or leave ins w/ distilled water to use as a leave in
3. Use for condit. washes.
4. Dilute poos that were not moisturizing enough
5. Use poos as body wash or lingere wash

Any other recs?

Products that I no longer use or products that I am no longer interested in get placed on the Hair Product Exchange board. I don't mind giving away products to a good home.

Making sure they go to a good home is always good.

I normally purchase from stores that have product satisfaction policies(can use up to 2x's = >3/4 product remains = returnable). I always keep my receipt and return what doesn't work for me.

Conditioner as shaving cream! Talk about a close shave...

Hmmm . . . that sounds interesting.
I'm usually so p/o'ed that I toss the stuff. I remember my last toss. It was the Always moisturizing leave-in. I had been using this stuff for a few weeks, and my hair was getting harder all along. When I realized that's what was doing it, I could have hurt something (or somebody) cannon-balling that bottle into the trash!

I have done all of the above:
1. Given some away.
2. Trashed -- wouldn't give some to my worse enemy!
3. Added oils to some to improve them.

I use failed condits as shaving cream and pre-shamp treatments when i'm lazy

I use harsh shampoos to clean out my tub, brushes, and combs.

I just posted some products there a few minutes ago. FREE to anyone who wants them, but they pay postage prior to shipping.

I give them to my nieces, sisters, nephew's wives, sister in-law...since my family is very 'multicutural' there is always someone whom's hair the products work well for.

yeah, i forgot. conditioners do make great shave creams!!

DSD, i actually got the idea to donate from someone on another board. it was so nice to give them to people that really appreciated them. i love my nieces, but i'll take a bag for them to my parents house, and those lil heffas will leave the bag over there for a month so umm...
at the shelter, it gives them something to pamper themselves with... as you can imagine, some of that stuff was expensive!
