Naturals Do You Ever Miss Your Relaxed Hair?

do you ever wish for the creamy crack? Are you happier now with your hair as it is? Will you ever go back to relaxed hair.
I can honestly say the third time was a charm. I absolutely love my hair moreso natural than relaxed. The only reason I ever went back to relaxers the other two times was because I wanted length. I bc'd to such a short length that it would have taken yrs to get to a decent length in a natural style. This last time I transitioned for almost two yrs and bc'd to a decent length. The other two times I transitioned for less than a yr. I think that's why I'm so satisfied with my natural hair now.

I know exacly how to get my hair to look the way I want and maintain the style for at least 3 days. When I was relaxed most of the time I wore buns but with my natural hair I can wear it out everyday if I want. I also think now that it's chin length in the front and shoulder length in the back in a braidout it fits my face better than my relaxed hair.

It's also way more versitile than my relaxed hair. I can have the more stretched reserved hairstyle of a braidout or the more big carefree look of a wash and go. Relaxed hair has one look flat.

My hair is just a pleasure to work with and it's growing like a weed.

No. It's easier for me to maintain my hair's health when natural and I prefer the look of my coils and curls over looser/straighter styles.

I don't think I'll go back to relaxing because I didn't like the upkeep. Dealing with the new growth vs. relaxed hair and stressing about touchup uniformity (I texlaxed) was just too much for me. Plus, if I relaxed and changed my mind, I'd have to transition and I NEVER want to do that again.

I haven't missed my relaxed hair yet. I can't say that I would never relax again but I haven't longed for a relaxer since I decided to stop in 2012 due to self-induced damage. Compared to my bone straight relaxed hair, I'm loving the volume and texture and seeing my hair flourish in health and length.

I do miss my relaxed hair at times, especially when my cbl hair strinks up to 2 inch afro.... But as far as going back to relaxers I know it won't happen anytime soon because I am infatuated with my curls but who knows what the future holds

Miss what? I love my natural hair, especially now that I know how to take care of it. I no longer have to stress during touch-up time - overlapping/breakage. With natural, as long as I deep condition, moisturize and seal I should see results. Cannot wait until my hair begins to cover this big forehead of mine.:afro:

I went natural in 2012 and got bored with my natural hair. I got a relaxer shortly after and it totally ruined my hair! I ended up doing another big chop and starting over. Sometimes I miss straight hair, but my hair is so much healthier in its natural state.

Although I had healthy relaxed hair, I love the volume and texture that I can get with my natural hair. I've always liked big hair and even though my strands are fine, I can fluff it and make it to my liking. My hair, unless it was cut in layers relaxed, was so flat.

So nope, don't miss the creamy crack or the long Saturdays spent in the salon.

The first time I went natural yes and that was mainly because I didn't know how to handle my natural hair. The second time I went natural no. I can't image going back to a relaxer ever. Plus my hair is fine and detangling was never an issue.

I went natural without trying to have healthy relaxed hair first. While I know there's enough information available to have a head full of healthy, lush, relaxed hair, I'm not risking it. My hair is flat ironed right now and my bun is super silky without those bumps on my roots. I'm enjoying it. But I'll wash next week and get back to what I'm used to.
