There is no such word as "MINES"!! Really one of my pet peeves!!:wallbash::wallbash:

"Mines" is right in there with "scrawberry" and "skreet." Too funny.

Side note...one of the elders in my church said "bullington" Sunday when referring to the church program. Then she said it twice...then a third time - each time the same way.

My inner Language Arts teacher stood to attention.
My behind stayed right there in the pew.

That was a good one!

Stop asking!

Stop asking "Am I apl? bsl? lmnopl?"

You know where your body parts/bra strap are! If you have to ask then the answer is probably NO. I've seen VERY few instances where it's iffy and not obvious.

And stop lying and telling people they are when you know they ain't.

I hate when people ask when they know the picture isn't a good one for other people to judge. Like how can I see what length you are if you have on a super baggy t-shirt, or the pic is super blurry/dark, or if you're a big girl like me and you have fat rolls so your shoulder blades/waist are hidden.

And then everybody has to play a guessing game. It's not fun. Make it easy on us and yourself please.

Real talk right here...

If your "photo studio" (AKA bathroom or bedroom) is junky, pose in front of a door.

There are people here (we know who we are) who check out the backgrounds of pictures too and wonder why someone with a junky house would post that on LHCF.

I'm just saying!!!!

Thank you for posting this. I saw a post like that. I was like wow...You could not pick up after yourself? Your stuff are all over the place. At least crop the photo. Don't expose us to it. It does not make you look good.

A lot of people need to concentrate on cleaning up their environment first rather than concentrate on hair. :nono:

um, may i add as a request that you please clothe your back with a bra at minimum before showing it to us along with your hair? especially if you are going to show us your whole back :)

While nude back shots don't bug me, really, I don't get why folk be at neck length and have to have an ENTIRE body shot in view (and dressed in something revealing, yes they did! ) Man, if you wanna show off your outfit, start a new thread! :lachen:

You ladies are really funny (and brutally honest...sometimes the sistas just have to check ya).
BTW (now I'm all self concious I came in to share a very good hair day for me, but I guess no one's interested):cry3:
My pet peeve, encourage those who are on the way. Sometimes it seems like you have to be at MBL or beyond just to get a little encouragement. Don't be so stingy.:naughty: Ear length may not be significant to some, but it may truly be an accomplishment for others.

There IS such a word. :look: But I know what you mean, haha.

I dunno. I agree with most of what you guys are saying, but I guess I feel posting my length pictures and regimen and whatnot is MY choice. We don't really have to post anything, right? My hair, my body, my camera... as long as I'm not showin' my naked booty, I can post whatever I choose to. And the only person I hurt by cheating my length shots is ME.

You shouldn't be this is all in good fun anyways. It's your choice in the end and who knows your good hair day would be inspiring to others.

Is it bad etiquette to bump your own hair shots?

It's my belief that there's no such thing as too many pics so bumping hair shots will sate my appetite for luscious hair shots.

Not pic related, but I am seriously annoyed by thread titles that don't give you any sort of clue what the thread is about. I don't have the time or desire to click on every single thread that gets posted on this board. If you don't create a meaningful title, and I can't figure out what you want to know within the few words I can see when I hover over the link, there's a 95% chance I won't click. :nono:
"I have a question........." is no where near as useful as just typing the question as the title. Folks who have answers or are interested in that topic will be drawn right in. Folks who don't, won't, and you can avoid that demoralizingly low ratio of responses to views :look:

This is SUPER FUNNY :lachen:. It is hard for me to type a response to the thread. But my pet peeve is when a person does list their REGIMEN in the OP, and the then you get people who only look at the pictures,:naughty: and DON"T READ, and then ask: "What is your regimen?" Can you read the OP ah pleeaassee. That is all :look:

And BTW, I HAVE posted a pic or two with laundry in the background. So unless you want to come and do it, ignore it, Okay?! :lachen: Focus on the subject at hand....love this thread, so funny

Great thread. It helps to break up some of the more serious ones.
I have one: If you started the thread, do you/I really need to keep
adding your/my big as life signature on every reply? Uncheck that button sometime.
ha! Siggy below.

That's why this is just "etiquette," and not "rules." It is in good taste and your own self-interest (the universal "you," not you phychu) to follow etiquette, but it isn't required. :yep:

Man you all are rough hahahaha. I'm guessing the checklist before posting goes something like:

Clean the apartment - check
Stand at attention in pics - check
Make sure I put on the same bra I had on in my 2006 pics - check
Head not tilted back one millimeter - check
Detailed regiment in op (oops, change to regime - darn...gotta get this right - regimen) - check
Don't even thing about asking if I'm APL - check.
Don't say I don't know even if I don't know - check

lololol I kid I kid. This thread is fun :lachen: :lachen:

i have one. for those who post BA pics, can you please stop posting BA pics...it takes too long to load and it's annoying when i have to scroll to the far left or all the way down just to read your post. i'm not blind and if i was, i'd just go get a pair of glasses if this was the case.

Please when someone asks a question, please answer the question and stop talking about everything under the sun (i.e., how many people you saw today that have type 1, 2, 3, 4 OR how many times you have went to the grocery store today--that has nothing to do with the thread) except if the OP has changed the direction of the thread. Additionally, don't get mad when the OP reminds you to keep focused. Thanks

:lachen::lachen::lachen: I am with you on this one, sister! But that was still my favorite thread of all time. Okay...mine:

  • Don't make a rude, snooty comment on a long thread, get corrected about it and never show up to the thread again.
  • Don't say you're 80% relaxed and 20% natural. What IS that?!?! Renatural? Nelaxed? It doesn't exist.
  • Don't say you're 4b when you're clearly 2b...and vice versa. Don't say you're 3a when you're clearly 4b. :nono: Not sure what the rationale is behind that but...anywhooooo...
  • Can someone please help us with the word "regimen?" It's regimen, not regime or regiment.
Definitions:

Regime - noun - a mode or system of rule or government: a dictatorial regime
Regiment - noun - a unit of ground forces, consisting of two or more battalions or battle groups, a headquarters unit, and certain supporting units.

The correct word is:

Regimen - noun - a regulated course, as of diet, exercise, or manner of living, intended to preserve or restore health or to attain some result.

  • Thank people when you create a thread and they compliment or respond otherwise. Even if you don't agree, thank them. They didn't have to take time to respond. To keep up with peoples' responses, subscribe to the threads you create.
  • Be nice, open to other ideas, and treat people how you want to be treated yourself - with dignity and respect. None of us is right all the time.
  • Don't be prideful and assume that your long hair automatically makes you the expert on all things hair-related. The attitude comes across these many miles of internet. We see you. (Not everyone is like this, but if you feel uncomfortable reading this...you know it's you. *giggles* :lachen: Just kidding, but ya'll know what I'm trying to say.)
  • By the same token, please give respect to true hair veterans and don't come up in here with EL hair giving a bunch of advice. LOL
Girl...you created the first best thread and the second one too!! (IMHO) Glad I am on the bandwagon early.

Hopefully, others will continue to chime in as well...GREAT THREAD!!!

subscribing...

Because one "thank you" wasn't enough. :thankyou: :thankyou: :thankyou:

I cringe every time I see that. You know folks are already talking about those obsessive black women using coochie cream to make their hair grow... but we then have to add horrible grammar to the mix.

You may have to get over cringing about "regime". :giggle: Cringe all you want about regimine or regiment when used in lieu of regimen, but regime, if you're keeping up with the evolution of language, is now used interchangeably with regimen; in American English anyway:

Here's the definition of regime: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/regime

Can you please stop talking about how you have a simple regimen when you really use 50-11 products!!! A simple reggie is 5 products or less not including water.

This really drives me crazy!

So true.

You know who has simple regimens? Silvergirl and Lunademiel. Cowash everyday and that's it. That is a simple regimen.

If you have a bunch of products and 10 steps in your regimen then it's not simple.

Stop making stupid threads about every compliment or insult you get over the course of 24 hours. It's not that deep. You just look like a drama queen that needs attention. And making multiple threads a day, week or whatever for something stupid is just plain annoying.
