i know EXACTLY what happened here...

i have read story after story on this board about beauticians jacking up LHCF members' hair after they have spent time and money on their own hair to get it to a great length, and decide to trust someone to do something minor just to treat themselves. and EACH time, the beautician messes it up.

the answer is this: divine intervention. i believe that these beauticians are so jealous of someone that can manage to achieve such great results on their own, and they feel inadequate. so consciously or subconsciously, they act out on their client's hair, cutting away all the work they put into it, with that "i'll show you!" nasty attitude. but, i think god, the creator, the divine, whatever you want to call it, stepped in here. he did not want you to suffer long for the ignorance of vengeful people. i truly believe that. keep ya head up ma. and keep growing without them.

Wow! COngratulations!!

I believe you because I have a few friends IRL who have above average growth rates so I know its possible. BUT also the retention is also due to your care and regimen and so Congratulations and great work. Thanks for sharing your reggie and your pics.

I don't believe it. I believe the story, but not the pics. Even if your hair was in a ponytail, that doesn't mean it would have waves. It'll just be a straight haired ponytail if you know what I mean. When my hair is straight blowdried it just looks like a poofy wrap was put into a low ponytail. It doesn't have that much shrinkage.

I might be a hata, but I'm just saying....that ish is impossible. Maybe 4 inches in 3 months, but not 6-7.

And I must admit it
Been actin like a hater
Tryin to get it
You got me lookin like a hater
Soon as she said she grew XYZ inches in 3 months
I was a hater

I don't really care what anyone else says, the two pictures are not comparable, the hair is in two completely different states so I cannot comment on any type of progress that OP might have made .... :peek:

Yeah I was wondering about that too. I can see if she was a natural, but since she's relaxed, her explanation for the waves kind of threw me for a loop. Call me a hater too. :ohwell:

She clearly states above that she did blow dry her hair in both pictures...

Chile' you know folks don't read.

Ya'll are some ruthless mofos.

Regardless of whether or not the pictures are comparable (which I can admit, the first picture has some texture to the hair as opposed to the updated progress picture), she DID make progress.

Her hair GREW, period. There are some of us who can barely get a couple of inches in in a year's time, so give her props for at least moving past her setback and seeing good growth and retention.

Congratulations OP. I'm sorry that it couldn't be more joyous for you.

I wonder how tall the OP is. If she is really short, I can believe it. The shorter your back, the faster you'll actually see length. Did she say how many inches she grew?

Come on yall, even if she didn't blow dry the 1st pic, her hair would be no longer than APL when stretched. Which is STILL a considerable amount of progress (understatement).

I had a friend (caucasian if it matters to anyone), who at 5'5 would cut her hair to her shoulders (at the beginning of marching season in Aug) and would have THIGH/KNEE length hair at the end of concert season in April. And I have seen her do this on multiple occasions....some people do have abnormally fast growth and if they are low maintenance can retain every inch

Either way, that is her length now. Does it really matter how long it took her to get there?

I thought I was done commenting until I read this..You know, being that I am 5'6, this made me literally get up, take my measurement from shoulder to knee and made my friend do it as well. She's 5'4. Being that she is 5'5 we both assumed that from shoulder to knee its probably anywhere from 27 inches to 32 inches.

So if I have my math calculations right.. :diver:

Your friend was gaining anywhere between 3.3 inches a month & 4 inches a month. Your story might be true & all but, it just seems so outrageous it makes me :lachen:

I mean you have to figure. When people start busting out with claims that basically say "hey i gain 3 inches or more a month." you have to figure its going to make anyone :ohwell:. To me its like someone saying "Yo, I sat and I ran at the same time!".. I mean its such a deviance from the norm, I think its only natural for people to be skeptical. I mean the OP even said she was shocked at the amount of growth that she received, so I mean if shes shocked you know WE are shocked. But it don't matter really. Her hair is like damn near MBL after 3 months, and my nape still b.a.l.d.h.e.a.d.e.d so she wins.

This thread is funny. I guess for those that see what I see we arent allowed to question but instead just go for the okie doke. I see nothing wrong with respectfully questioning what one sees with their own eyes. I guess I will just say "go girl! Good growth" and keep it moving. Not directed at the op but some of the commenters...

I think there's a big difference between genuine questioning versus coming out just to mention you don't believe the OP at all.

It's a free country, anyone can do anything really... but if you (not you specifically) came in here just to say "Nope! Don't believe it! Sorry, you can call me a hater!" then it's kinda like "Errm... mmkay." Why bother?

At the end of the day, whether her dates are wrong, her hair is textured, or she's a midget, her hair grew. Isn't, or rather, shouldn't that be the end all be all?

But maybe it's just me, I see no reason or point in lying to a bunch of women on a message board that I would likely never meet in real life about my hair growth, so I don't know why OP would lie.

you should document ur progress from now and report back in three months. i'd love to think that growth that fast is possible, but i'm a bit skeptical. i have a friend who's 4a and her hair grows extremely fast. i've never measured her hair or anything, but its fabulous growth.

so OP keep us posted on ur progress.

I don't believe she is lying either and I'm sure I mentioned that previously. My only thing is that the hair is no where as straight in the first pic. If I was a newbie I'd be pretty perplexed. Warning to newbies - texture does make a difference in length. In any case beautiful hair, wonderful growth in such a short amount of time, happy hair growing, etc :) ladies enjoy ur day :)

Just for the record I wasn't referring to you personally with my response to your post. I hope you didn't take any offense.

And IA completely with the bolded, I actually said the same thing in my original post to this thread... I think that that the difference in textures is what makes the true growth progress hard to accurately capture.

Girl, not me, I'mma say what I want. If a member posts pics here, that means feedback is expected. Where are the rules that say we all have to nod our heads in agreement like a bunch of sheep. As long as no one is being disrespectful, we don't all have to agree or believe a poster.

Funny because one of the people in this thread hollering about "hate" has proven herself to be a hater to me, time and time again, in other threads regarding other people though (not me). But I won't even go there. It's a recession and I'm not tryn to lose my 6.50. :lachen:

Hm... I honestly think 2 inches a month is possible, and if I got 2 inches a month it would take me from SL to BSL in 3 months also, so hey, I had my doubts, but I really believe this is possible.

I just wish it would happen to me. I'd be full WL by September. *drools*

Congrats, OP!

MrsMeredith, the same thing happened to me when I let a family member "trim" my hair. I'm so glad your hair is growing back so you can surprise her at the next family reunion.
