Beautiful! How did you keep her hair from breaking at the demarcation line during the transition? Also, did you transition her in braids or just by the weekly routine you mentioned?
Thanks. We didn't use any braids or weaves or anything to transition just the weekly routine.
To keep her hair from breaking at the line of demarcation. I made sure to keep her hair well moisturized and deep conditioned. I did weekly steam treatments with Keracare intensive restorative mask. No excessive combing and blowdrying.

I saw your video the other day and no lie I watched it like 5 times back to back. I went to the salon thursday and got my hair pressed straight by saturday it was a big mess. How do you keep your daughters hair from reverting? Do you live along the east coast...I'm just asking to know if you are also dealing with the same humidity as I am. Also I have the FHI platform and it gets my hair really straight but the reversion just kills it everytime. I have purchased just about every heat protectant/humidity blocker out there. I also have the Paul Mitchell product you used on your daughters hair but I have yet to try it out when flat ironing. I will try it this weekend. Also how important is the brand of hair dryer. I have a drug store hair dryer but do you think buying a name brand one will improve my technique. I think I just need to practice on my overall drying technique because for years I depended on salons to do my hair so now I am lost lol. Thanks for any suggestions.

Humidity is a problem. I live in Georgia. My daughter or clients do a very good job of keeping up their hair in between shampoo. A lot of it has to do with technique then products. Tying the hair up at night is key and when it gets really humid ponytails work wonders. Something about binding the hair or tying it back helps prevent the hair from swelling so much in humid climates. Another thing. I steam condition her hair weekly so her hair is very well moisturized not really leave room for the humidity to get to it. The better moisturized the hair the less chance of it reverting as quickly.

Good Luck trying the PM products. I think you will like them but make sure not use too much. They can still weigh the hair down. I am not sure if the dryer make a difference but putting a little tension on the hair while blowdrying helps. Also work in six sections if you are not already doing so. HHG

Do you blow dry on high heat, low heat or cold air?

dontspeakdefeat; I bought the Willie Morrow comb attachment and you can adjust it to fit any dryer. I took out the little metal bar in it though. I don't want to cause heat damage to anyone's hair. I blowdry on med to med-high heat. Cold air won't get the hair a smooth as it needs to be for a great flat iron.

I wanted to ask your opinion on this comb attachment, I just watched your video on this particular comb from when you first got it, and how you filed down the seams on the comb. Now that you have had it/used it for a while how do you like it. I have been looking for a comb attachment for awhile, and don't want to keep throwing money away, the one's I have purchased keep breaking. I have one now that has held up pretty well, well at least the teeth have, but now it keeps falling out of the hair dryer, I guess from all the hair product, oils etc. etc. I have tried degreasing it and everything but it still doesn't stay in the hair dryer, right how I have it tapped up with black electrical tape to hold it in place, lol but it drives me crazy. :wallbash: So do you think this would be a good investment, and does it fit most hairdyrers.

BTW your DD's hair is gorgeous, my DD is natural and has really thick hair, which she also like's it to be straight, straight. Very hard to do now with the comb attachment not working properly. Thanks.

Thanks!! I do still like the comb attachment. It comes with different rings to adjust to any dryer including mine. It fit mine well but it kept coming off while I was doing clients hair. So.....I put masking tape around my dryer nozzle for a more custom fit. It doesn't bother me though. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do because sometimes the best solutions are not the prettiest ones. I don't really see the tape though. The comb attachment nozzle covers it!

This conditioner is THAT DEAL!!!

I am 8 months post and I haven't had any issues what so ever. My life is easy. Wash, condition, blow dry, flat iron. Sometimes I will do a braid out. The keracare mask has been my life saver. I have the big salon size tub and it was one of the best investments I have made. I use the syntonics grothenic shampoo and then the mask for 30 minutes with heat.
