Mothers, at what age did you start taking your child(ren) to church?

I'm not sure if you mean sunday school. I took my son since he has been in the whom. He is now one and goes when I go. I guess it starts early for me. I hope this helps.

I've been taking him since 6wks after his birth. I think most people do since, mothers tend to take their children wherever they go. Is it something deeper behind this question?

He was 4 months old. I wanted to take him after his first round of shots. Now he's 18 months old and actively participates in service. He claps, tries to sing and read the handouts. His behavior is great, many people comment on how well -behaved he is.

I started around 2 months after he was born. However, around 7 months, I took him for Easter Mass. It was a nightmare. I don't know if it was because it was crowded and we couldn't sit in our usual area, but he cried, or a better word, YELLED, from the time we arrived. Nothing soothed him, I finally left after 15mins of non-stop screaming. He goes with me now, since he has turned 1yo. He doesn't cry, but he actively participates--sings and claps with the choir. He also gives his own sermon after the priest finishes:lachen: My church members enjoy his little presentation.

I have always taken my child to church... since she was born. Also churches now usualy have some type of childrens church. I would recommend that if women have problems with their child in church they need to practice with them at home and talk to them about the importance of sitting and listening

With my oldest, it wasn't until he was around 6 months maybe. I had not been active in church myself, but my baby started to have night terrors that scared the fool out of me. I thought for sure the devil was after my baby and me so off to church we went. With my two youngest, I took them pretty much from birth. For a while though I put them in children's church because they were just too fidgety and I didn't want them distracting other folk. Now I let them sit with me in the balcony and we come after praise and worship so that they don't have an extended period of having to be still AND quiet(((cuz I don't believe in kids having juice and snacks and playing in church)

Not really.

I asked because I assumed most mothers started taking their children to church at the same age that they took them anywhere else. That's the only reason I was wondering. Please know that the question was not meant to offend. Thanks.

My children have always gone to church, since they were babies. My home church has separate churches for preschool, elementary, jr. high and high school aged children they are not usually in the main sanctuary. They have their own services lead by separate youth pastors. The infants and toddlers go to a staffed nursery.

I took them from about 2 weeks on. When I felt rested enough to go to church. I felt like church would be a good outting for us being only 2 hours long. Even though my life was quite raggedy at that time  I felt like I should go to church with them before going anyplace else. I wasn't as concerned about shots and stuff b/c I have never been the type to let ppl touch/ kiss on newborns anyway.:look:
