End of the Year Goals

I'm not sure if anyone started this, but I thought as we go into fall and near the end of the year it was a good time to start thinking about your end of the year goals. I know it seems crazy 2007 is almost over there are only 4 months left in this year. Sometimes I think it's good to look at the big picture and give yourself that boost going into next year to achieve it.

The big picture/long term goal: I would like to have healthy/thicker SL sides/crown and APL in the back by Sept. next year.

My end of the year goal: To grow out these sides/crown. So my goal is to grow and maintain 2" in length by the end of the year. This will be the boost I need to achieve my long term goal.

Steps to achieve end of the year goal:
1) I will use products that have proven effective for my hair.
2) I will baby my hair like a brand new 7 series BMW.
3) By doing steps 1 & 2 I will not need therefore will not let anyone trim my hair.
4). I will evaluate my progress beginning Nov. to see how I am doing.

Thanks for starting this thread, i've been thinking a lot about my end of year goals.

I'm hoping to achieve thicker and healthier hair by Dec 2007, i'm currently at the top of bra-strap, hoping to be a few inches past when i get my touch-up. By March 2008 i want to be mid back length, my long term goal is waist-length.

Steps to achieve end of the year goal:

1) I will continue to use my De Louise Ayurveda products that have proven to grow my hair.
2) Use protective styles, no more braids
3) no airdrying as its caused too much breakage when its time to comb my hair, Rollersetting hair every few weeks is much healthier
4) switching to SE Mild lye for thicker hair

My hair goals would be to gain some serious thickness and maintain it..

1. By the end of the year, I hope to be BSL or very close.
2. Continue to try to find staples item from what I have already bought.
3. Protective styles throughout the winter

I am looking for a big reward the first quarter of the year. I am going to squash the theory that black woman cannot grow no hair..

Ultimate goals is full MB length hair.

My end of the year goal is APL. Last December (2006) I gave my hair a pretty big chop. It should be a little past APL by December.

I'm going to stay with the lo-mani regimen.

Great thread. I was just thinking about this.

The big picture/long term goal: Healthy THICK waistlength hair

My end of the year goal: To continue to take extra special care of my hair and to nurse my edges back to health (thanks Boundless Tresses)

Steps to achieve end of the year goal:
1) I will use products that have proven effective for my hair.
2) ABSOLUTELY NO TRIMS!!!!!!
3) Wear protective styles, protective styles, protective styles
4) Although I brush, I do it very lightly to smoot cause a comb doesn't get it for my hair. Make my own moisturizers to forever combat my dryness.
5) Block out those people who are either a) tired of me wearing "fake hair" and b)laugh because they don't get or understand the time I'm putting into my hair. I had someone say today "a black woman will never be able to grow their hair to the waist unless they have 'good hair'" IGNORANCE

My long-term goal is to have healthy and beautiful bra-strap/mid-back length natural hair.

My immediate short-term goals are to achieve the following by Dec. 31, 2007:

~ Sides (stretched): at or longer than mid-neck length
~ Front (stretched): at or longer than upper lip length
~ Back (stretched): passing collar bone length by 2" or more
~ My hair continues to stay healthy and happy

To achieve all my goals, I will continue to do what I'm doing: helpful hair styles, weekly deep conditioning, daily rinsing and moisturizing, and taking vitamins and supplements daily. I'm also incorporating the following activities into my lifestyle, which will also benefit my hair health and growth: being more relaxed and patient, having healthier and more consistent eating habits, exercising daily, and positive visualizations.
