FOR THOSE OF YOU HAVING TROUBLE WITH FOTKI AND SPYWARE

Have any of you all had problems accessing fotkis?

When you would try to look at your album, or anyone else's album, the screen would change, and you would automatically be directed to another website?

I finally figured out a way to avoid getting those websites to pop up on my computer. Here's what I did:

First, turn you pop-up blockers on.

Open your internet browser. Tools ---> Pop-up blocker ---> Turn on pop-up blocker

Second, you have to restrict access to these sites in your browser.
  1. Open your internet browser.
  2. Tools.
  3. Internet Options.
  4. Security Tab.
  5. Click on "Restricted sites".
  6. Click on sites.
  7. Copy and paste the 3 websites below and add them to the restricted list:
http://*.pcsecuresystem.com

http://*.privacyconductor.com

http://*.advancedcleaner.com

http://*.antispywaresuite.com

And that's it! I'm pretty sure that there are more, so as this problem arises, just add the new ones to the restricted list.

I hope this helps you guys, because I know those sites were driving me crazy :spinning::wallbash: For those of you who are not having this problem, you may want to do this anyway as a preventative measure to avoid having this problem in the future.

OMG those were the sites that were taking over everytime I tried to look at a fotki.....THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! :flowers:

THANKS! I was accusing hubby of looking at porn on my laptop bc I thought that was the reason I was getting popup spyware :lachen:....

Thanks! I could not figure out how to get rid of those particular pop-ups, so I ended up cleaning out my cache (I think) and my cookies. So now, I approve all cookies on my computer. It's a little more trouble, but at least I know what's going on my computer now.

Thx Keisha, I was looking at your album an something popped up, I was just about to do a spyware scan on my computer! Anyways, what was your kinky twist regimen? I was thinking of getting some during my sex month stretch, but I don't want to damage my hair.

Your welcome! I was getting so annoyed that I stopped going to my fotki altogether!

I didn't do anything when I had kinky twists, really. For the first month or so, it stayed really neat. Then every 2 weeks after that I would re-twist the perimeter. Gotta preserve the sexy :giggle:

Every so often, I would take down a twist to feel the length of my hair. If it was dry, I'd spritz my whole head with NTM diluted with Fermodyl 619. This would keep my hair moisturized for at least 2 weeks, and my hair would smell soooo good

I was also taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose oil, it made my new growth come in soft and shiny, so I didn't have to worry about moisturizing too much.

I would wash once every 2 weeks or so, cuz I didn't want them to get messed up. If I sweat a lot from exercising, I would just let run warm water through it when I took a shower, then spritz my hair with the NTM/Fermodyl 619.

I'd so a big ol french braid, then sleep with a satin cap at night to keep them neat.

HTH!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I thought I was the only one having that problem and that something was wrong with my computer.

Thanks Keisha for the sites to block. I emailed FOTKI a few months ago to inform them of the spyware crap on their site.

They emailed me back and it stopped happening for a while. Just recently I had the problem again and I didn't know the addresses. You are a lifesava~timesava:yep:.

For Firefox click the following:
Tools
Options
Privacy
Exceptions
Then type in websites on by one and click block after each to add to list.

Thanx for this!! I've been avoiding Fotki's because of the spyware.

Thanks this was happening to me at work only, I have some great spyware programs at home and I use FireFox instead; but at work it is another thing. Now I don't have to close out the and try it again.

Oh by the way I love your hair.

THANK YOU!!
Fotki really needs to DO something about that. But I suppose they are getting paid to let them do it... so whatever.
