Listerine as a relaxer base MY A$$!!!!

i don't plan on suing anyone becuz this was a much of her fault as mine

but..some of y'all need to take it easy. I'll accept some of the criticism and many of the jokes have been genuinely funny but ..SOME of y'all need to back up if all you wanna do is taunt and taunt...

you don't wanna keep messin with a girl whose head is on fire!

:nono:
OP...how's your scalp feeling? Does it still hurt? Any scarring, flaking or scabbing?
Please don't take any further chances with your scalp...go to a doctor!!

Yea that sounds like a bad experience... I also read on here that someone uses Pine-Sol as a base. Why would you want your hair smelling like Pine-Sol anyway... I really hope that is was a joke or something

do you think it could have been something else in the bottle??? could you smell the alcohol? usually you can smell that stuff a mile away.....

so your head really is hurting/burning right now?

I don't know OP you might need to see a dr. or dermatologist ASAP, forget the hair I'd be worried about my SKIN/SCALP

Wow! I never heard of anything like that. Sorry this idiot stylist did that to you. I would go to a doctor to make sure everything is ok but in the meantime try some aloe vera gel. This has really good healing and soothing properties.

Lilamae, is this the same stylist who told you you could never grow WL hair? The same one you referred to as your best friend? :ohwell:

OMG, Lilamae....that's right! Remember this: "The only issue is that my stylist is also my best friend! I have been doing my hair more at home though" ??? You mean to tell me this friend and stylist are the same person??? If she's the same, looks like she's trying to make her prophecy true. :nono:

Don't you for one minute believe that this woman did not know what she was doing. I do caution you, though. Murder is against the law is some states, just in case you're considering it. :look:

I think that was a joke.

Yeah, It must be a joke because stylist *** would have been ball headed.

Next time let her base it with MN.

She will not tell where salon is so we can have a consultation with beautician. Girls raised in the south are ladies.

We can get jiggy when we need to, you see the beat down we put on the GRINDS....:yep:

**back to OT I go, I"m of no use here****

Dang, I think this is BEYOND hair advice, I'd go see a doctor ASAP

Ok, if we get serious for a moment. How much would an antiseptic like Listernine open her pores? Then to apply chemical right on it....:nono:. Sounds like one of those poision hotline warnings. Should Mae call a dermatologist and just ask if she needs to see a Dr?

See Summer G.R.I.T.S would have called 911 stop playing. We both would have been in ER...........

Now back in the day, I knew some stylist would put Listerine on the spot burning after they rinsed out the relaxer and washed it with Neut. shampoo and then rinse that out and wash again and condish. the hair. But I never heard of it being a base.:perplexed:sad:

I think the stylist got it mixed up.:perplexed

I'll check with the advice nurse...oh and yes the salon is in oakland, cali and yes this was a "close friend" as I stated in a previous thread.

She said her grandma used it for her mom all the time..but it may have been for dandruff like someone said before.

I saw it somewhere before..I thought it was on this site..but I'm not sure. Whatever..at this point.:ohwell:

Yes lilamae, I'd be talking with a dermatologist. You have no idea what damage may have been done to the dermis.

this is rediculous

i dnt mean 2 sound rude but

its pretty obvious listerine is very hot on the inside of the mouth

so why on this earth would u allow anyone to put this near your head?

is this a joke?

wel i would be shotting her a slap right now

Good luck

Does she do hair in a salon? seems like she would have figured out by now this isn't right? Has she tried this on others or just you:nono:

Hmmm...with friends like that...:nono:

Lilamae, for real, I don't care if she's your best friend or your worst enemy...I honestly believe she knew, SHE KNEW what she was doing was WRONG.
This person will be the biggest hinderance to your hair growth progress...hopefully she hasn't destroyed your scalp already with that listerine/relaxer cocktail.

If you don't report her, she will be bold enough to do this to someone else. Do you want another poor unsuspecting person, maybe a youngster or a teen with hair she's envious of, to go through the agony and worry of losing their hair?

REPORT THIS SO-CALLED BEAUTICIAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, I MEAN IT!!!

Lilamae,

I'm not here to judge or taunt. I've certainly sat through some salon stuff that I shouldn't have. I think it happens to a lot of people, because we make the (faulty) assumption that the stylist is a knowledgeable professional.

I do think that if this stylist is your friend you should tell her that your scalp was sore and tender and that it's not a good idea for her to continue to use Listerine. You should tell that you've heard people use seabreeze or an antiseptic after a relaxer.

Who knows how many people she has done this to or will do it to if you don't speak up. So, if she's your friend and you want her to maintain her license and her income say something to her.

Just my two cents. Hope your hair/scalp is recovering.

 This is the best advice yet. While the thought of using something like Listerine is outrageous, thank God that your hair is still on your head. I wish you the best of luck with your scalp healing.
