Favorite butters other than Shea?

I was watching a YT video and she was using avocado butter on her 4c textured hair. I'm running out of my shea butter so I decided to give the Avocado a try. When I was ordering it, I was surprised to see a roll call of various butters from Almond to Pumpkin. Have any of you used or love any butters other than shea butter?

I'm in love with avocado oil and butter! I don't know if it was YouTuber NaturalMe4C but she turned me on to avocado butter. I also like soy butter and aloe butter. I really want to experiment with other butters...but right now me & avocado are getting alone just fine.

I use a mixture of Shea, avocado, and coco butter now. I ordered some cupuaco butter yesterday. I like that the avocado butter has no scent, and it very soft.

I want to try mango butter...what is the consistency? Is it a "hard" butter?

Is Pumpkin Seed a soft butter? I love whipping butters & want to come up with some nice mixtures...I whipped coffee oil with soy butter (absorbed well)

I think when I had it, it was fairly soft.

I also forget to mention Horsetail Butter and Green Tea Butter

Texas Natural Supply has a lot of interesting Butters.

Their Shipping Prices are a killer though.

You can also get butters on eBay. I like to start w a small amount to see if I like it first. There are a couple of sellers w a lot of different butters and excellent feedback.

Wow, I never knew there were so many alternatives. Shea butter is nice but very greasy. I ordered Avocado butter today from Ebay (here). Never ordered from them before so I know nothing about it yet. Cant wait to get my avocado butter!!! :) I love whipping my butters so I plan to try as many as possible and see which one I love most.

Hibiscus30 Yes it was Naturallyme4c from YT who peaked my interest in trying it, lol.

Mango butter is a harder butter.. But what works for me is placing the container in hot water to melt it down then mixing it with other oils..also mango butter is on the drier side in comparison to shea butter you know not as greasy, which is why I love it!

I have recently fallen in love with whipping my butters for hair and body. I tried making aloe butter but it started to mold. I just got my vitamin E in the mail today.

I like kokum butter for hair and body but its really HARD. My hair is braided so I just use it for my body right now. I whipped it with some shea, mango and cocoa butter with pink grapefruit EO for scent. I  it so much. I might melt it a little and rewhip this weekend bc its still a little stiff. Might add a little AVJ and def some vit E oil to soften and preserve.

Kokum is supposed to be really good for damaged hair. So is soy butter and capuacu butter. Those are on my list for next time.

Got the kokum and mango from mountain rose herbs and the shea and cocoa from butters n bars, then recently from hennasooq.

I LOVE this HHJ!!

My stash of butter contains avocado, mango, sweet almond and aloe vera butter. The shea butter is too heavy for my hair and I get them at From Nature With Love.

I like coffee and Brazil nut butters.

Mango butter is too hard for me to work with. I will be trying some of the soft butters you all mentioned.

I got into a phase of ordering butters and the thing i learnt was not to go overboard because some of these butters are hard and are better mixed with other oils/butters and don't particularly smell nice etc.

Avocado butter is soft and i like the texture, cupuacu butter smells/ behaves like cocoa butter but some other butters like mango butter & murumuru butters are hard textured, no smell (i was expecting the mango one to have a mango scent) and in the end i ended up making a mega mix with them to use them up.

I make my own butters. Melt Crisco, mix in oils, cool to make it solid.
I am using a castor, olive and sunflower mix infused with amla right now.

I *think* that's what a lot of these butters are if the ingredients include hydrogenated vegetable oil (not pure butters like shea or mango). Maybe these suppliers have a more sophisticated way of making them.
