Stylist Cuts 9 Inches Off A Youtuber's Waistlength Hair...

I figure there would be a thread on this. It's sad that even at this moment, she's in IG trying to defend herself. She had posted something about an hour ago pleading with people to stop sending threats over to said stylist, but thenot deleted it. I really feel bad for her because she shouldn't have to defend herself over what is justified anger and sadness in regards to what was done to her personal being that she worked hard (8 years I believe) to achieve. People posting on her IG, 'Get over it' or 'It'll grow back' to 'Stop beating a dead horse'. It's amazing how flippant people can be when they're not the ones in the vulnerable position...

Yes, that whole "we work two different YouTube worlds." Also, "I just learned who she was two days ago."

I don't have a dog in this fight but how exactly do you not know the girl your man has reached out to multiple times to do her hair? Did he mention her to you or nah? Ya'll are in the same business right? Ok...

Well this really blew up on IG! Vincengo or whatever his name is put up an apology. People are saying Jewelliana is ruining he's career and it's just hair. But omg he butchered it though!

If it's just hair then why are he and his followers taking it so seriously? If it's just hair then why do stylist treat it as if it's some kind of art form? I hate when people do this - try to nullify something as soon as it doesn't agree with their opinion. If it's just hair then GTFO his page with your emotions trying to defend what he did and tell him not to act like his work is so serious.

It's mostly because of who he's connected too. Him being with a black latina helps bring black clients. Even when I was a child I thought it was weird how black people gush over alleged "down" white people. No shade but a lot of those women probably never even seen his work, they just know he's with a black girl so he gets a pass.

If you can pay him $100+ for a messed up haircut, you can pay the "overpriced" natural hair salon near you with black women that know what they're doing.

I could so go on... and on... and on about this - I agree.

He REALLY looks like he knows his stuff! Like he has magic hands lol. How does he manage to repair/style/cut damaged hair? I've seen a few pics where the person had damaged hair in the before pic and in the after pic it was curly.
Right?! His transformations are unreal. There was one girl who literally had a huge gaping hole in the middle of her head (not from being bald but because of how it was cut) and how he managed to shape her hair into a pice of art without completely scalping her is beyond me.

No, There is no border for the Bronx and LI (that's a bridge, toll and water). And the address is LI. Unless she went to see him somewhere else? I'm confused.

@discodumpling i would go to someone who can do it while the hair is not in the stretched state, but just do good research. I also hope this is not the guy I met at curlfest because if it is, he really sweet talks himself into really knowing how to do black hair.

What's the significance of where she got it done at?

No, they were mentioning that she got it done in one place but the address is another. It seems commenters on her page id'ed the shop? Regardless, I was just commenting that the locations are not in the same area.

The stylist has reached out to me and apologized. He admitted that he did not give me what I wanted, did a poor haircut on me, and feels very bad for the consequences that have not only effected him, but me as well. I have explained to him how this not only affected my esteem, but my careeer and livelihood... and how I had trust in his skills that he failed to deliver. He acknowledges that he has caused irreparable damage to my hair, and wishes that he could do something to change it. He has assured me that this was not a sabatoge, by him or anyone he's associated with, to ruin my hair... and I do not/ didn't believe that it was a sabotage either. I believe that we both made a move to try and advance our careers, that ended up being a massive setback for the both of us. Do I think that he did an even slightly acceptable haircut? No Do I take my review back? No. But he has not only been being severely bullied as a result of this video, but him and his family have received death threats as well. This IS NOT okay. I do not want to give off the message that by supporting and agreeing with me, you have to treat another person inhumanely. I gave my review in the most honest and respectful way and I would greatly appreciate it if you all could forgive, as I have. I don't like my hair cut at all, but it'd take a ton of energy for me to hate someone and wake up everyday holding this grudge. I am honestly grateful that I have an apology and that he acknowledged his errors... that's taken A LOT of unwanted/ unresolved anger out of my heart and I can appreciate that even if it may not seem like enough to you all. It means a lot to me and my well-being. Thank you all for your support and let's not spread hate please. Love you all! ❤

This reminds me of all the times that something happens and a Black person is trotted out imploring everyone to "be calm" and show forgiveness. Forget him. Forget his feelings. Live and drown in those consequences bih. His (and his bae) initial flippant responses showed a lack of empathy so his apology now are just words. He can delete his social media and get a job with UPS. Jewel can forgive but the internet should never forget.

People don't need to threaten them just unsubscribe and don't give either of them any more views.

When I first saw this, my initial thought was that she played herself. I know we've all been there in one f0rm or another but she should've known better. Curly/coily/kinky hair generally is condensed and so you have to be aware when cutting or trimming it because there's you could chop off more than you intended. Her experience serves as a reminder to always ask stylists what they're doing with your head. Sometimes I don't want to be a bugaboo but we have to remind ourselves that it's our head and we're paying them to provide a service that meets our satisfaction.

she knows exactly who Jew is:rolleyes:Come the F on now. I'm not a huge follower of curly gurus I started following Jewe before she blew up and had like 500 followers. However I don't follow Nap85, Mahoghany, lipsticksncurls, glamtwinz etc. no rhyme or reason but I just don't.

but for me to say I don't know who they are? :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen: Girl bye. Glad I don't follow her simple behind either.
She tried to pull a Mariah- "I don't know her".

First thought.

Next thought. She needs to put this salon on blast. That place needs to be out of business by the end of the month.

I can't stop laughing at this gif:lachen::lachen:

I agree. I would have put him and that salon on BLAST. You aren't ****** up my hair with no repercussions. If my YouTube career suffers, so will yours. I'm glad he was put on blast in the comments section.

Deva cut it is done curl by curl and lots of sections etc until desired shape is done. The only stylists I've seen on IG perfectly execute this is Shaimiel in Studio City LA (I let him cut mine) and April at Deva Cuts in NYC. Blame the stylist not the technique. Like someone said a deva cut when done correctly is actually good for someone like her because she only straightens once a year. By the time she straightens the deva would be pretty much grown out and the hair will fall into natural layers. It's not a cut for naturals who constantly are back and forth between curly and straight.

Beautybylee if you see this....don't do it girl! Blink twice if you need help:yawn:

I live really close to Studio City. I do want some layers cut into my hair, but I haven't even bothered trying to find a salon out here in LA since I just don't trust anyone with my hair. I might have to check him out though.

I don't believe him though. I do think he sabotaged her hair. So she can forgive him but I don't.
I don't think he should be cutting hair.

yesssssss best revenge!!!! pass it on
idk why i'm so angry for her but I am. I want him to pay for this. I do not believe this was a mistake and if it was actually a mistake then he needs to go back to beauty school and has No business in anyone's hair.

On break
This is how he should have cut it. I was surprised to find out that the stylist is beautybylee's fiancee.

:yep:

Thanks for sharing this video.

YEP! That cut was AWESOME. This shows that it's not really about the stylist's skin color, though the stylist in the OP tries to gain customers by emphasizing race. Now I want an appointment with Cal from DevaCurl! LOL!

I just went through this dude's IG and I don't get it. There really and truly isn't anything spectacular about this work compared to what I've seen over the years. I don't know why all of these coily-haired divas are running to him. I've seen banging hair cuts and none of his work is, IMHO. How did this guy get a big following from coily-haired girls anyway?
