Fall back on the Aphogee- it sounds like you are overloading on protein. What are you Dc'ing w/- does it also have protein in it? Sounds like your hair is craving some moisture.

I am using the Olive Oil Replenishing pack... I have been using for my last 2 DC.. I LOVE IT but I am not sure if has protein in? Also my scalp itches like crazy.. it normally itches around relaxer time but since I am stretching I don't know what do to.. I am using ORS Anti-itch scalp oil for naturals (because new growth is natural hair.. @ least it made since to me:look:). I currently co wash twice a week.. but my hair is killing me.. should I co wash more or change oils?

I'm 18 weeks post. Man it's really hard to stretch for me because I'm getting tangles on the ends and the roots. I took out sew-in about 3 weeks ago and it's getting harder to get comb thru the roots. I have hair in cornrows right now but scalp is a little sore from trying to detangle (i try not to pull too tight but just to get fingers thru to braid is tough). I've tried shea butter but haven't noticed much softness. I bought some Elasta QP Mango Butter last week. I used some today after I treated hair to Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair and Two-Minute Keratin. My daughter then braided hair in cornrows so I can wear wig. I went out and bought a new one last week too.

It's interesting...

I am currently 6 weeks post trying for a 15 week stretch. I used to relax faithfully at 6 weeks. After stretching 11 weeks last time, I have gotten so used to my new growth that the 1/2 inch to 1 inch of new growth I have now feels like nothing.

How is everyone doing? I am finding it easy to stretch this time around because I found some cute wigs! I am also enjoying my new growth. The texture is really soft and wavy. I decided today that I am extending my stretch until Dec 23. That will make it 30 wks! I am so excited. I plan to keep my hair in cornrows under wigs and full sewn in weaves. My stylist told me to use braid spray to combat the shedding and breakage from braids. I just achieved APL as of 8/30 and hope to be at BSL by Dec 31. I am in the HYH challenge and will not show any progress until Dec.

I have made it to 20 weeks! I can't believe it! My original goal was to stretch for 16 wks. I currently have a full sewn in weave. I plan to have this style until Dec. 19. That will be the day I relax. I want to try the Alter Ego texturizer. Not really sure.:ohwell: I am a Phyto Junkie!

Is It too late to join? :scratchch If not, I'm In! I usually stretch for 7 weeks so i'm going to try for 12 weeks. My last relaxer was July 25th (I'll be 5 weeks post tomorrow), so my next relaxer should be October 17th, yall gon have to pray for me, my edges and new growth get terribly kinky :cry3:, so i'ma scavenger hunt the stretchers support thread to find a way to tame those roots. Wish me luck! this is my first challenge! :yay:

:hiya: Hey Yall, just checking in, I've passed my 12 week goal and am so excited :yay: i cant wait to relax cuz under my sewn in weave, my roots is looking like something straight outta the color purple... "Celie!!!!!" I am going to the hair salon this friday which will make 13 weeks post, 1 week past my original goal, pat on the back... I will post the before and after pic saturday. Hows everyone doing with the stretching? I wish everyone the best of luck... Happy stretching!!!

Today was relaxer day for me! :woot: :woot:

I used Silk Elements Olive Oil relaxer and after 17 weeks, it was sooo weird to feel water directly on my scalp! Combing is so effortless. I forgot what it's like to have a fresh relaxer!

There is one downside, though. I was so excited to relax, I forgot to base my scalp. I know tomorrow, my scalp's gonna be scab city :ohwell:

Anywho, here's my update pic (I hope I posted it right)

I just got a sew-in for the last 7 weeks of stretching. Hopefully this will help as I am using OCT. Anybody got any advice on how often I should use it w/ a sew-in since I'm only gonna wash and DC 1x/wk? I used to apply it every night and rinse it out in the am when I cowashed. I don't wanna wet my hair that often w/ a sew-in. TIA:grin:

I have that MT/OCT induced growth too (I'm at seven weeks post). I do two things. First, I am now doing a turbie twist steam treatment three days a week. I do not attempt to rollerset my wet hair unless I have done the steam treatment. Second, I use the tail end of a rattail comb to part my hair. It's useless to use the comb end!
