what do ya'll think

I love Sisterswithrealhair, her hair is beautiful and long, but she does mention having scalp problems. I think washing the hair only every two months is not the best choice for scalp health.

She has some gorgeous hair but my scalp might swing down and slap the ishhh out of me if I waited 2 months to wash it

Well I saw the little bubble that said 'with shampoo' and she said she likes cowashing.

So I'm taking that to mean she'll be cowashing, just not using shampoo.

Can't do it. 2 weeks was the longest I went back when I was afraid of water touching my hair. I still side eye myself for that mess. Whatever works for her, but I just could not.

My Mom is all about this, and swears her hair thrives with monthly washing. Then she complains how thin it's getting in the next breath...:ohwell: I understand wanting to keep your manipulation low, but shampoo washing every 6 months, and cowashing every 2 months is just kinda outrageous. Whatever works for her, but if I dared try it my scalp would peel itself right off my scull, and walk away.

i like watching her videos because her regimen is working for her (also she updates regularly and i'm addicted to hair videos, lol).

for me it would not work. i have to thoroughly wash my hair at least every two weeks if i am in twists. in braids once a week. but i light water rinse my hair in the shower a couple times a week concentrating on my scalp. but this is what works for me.

she said she would cowash her hair every 2 months, and use shampoo every six months...aint no type of conditioner getting rid of 2 months of dirt :barf: couldn't be me...

What's wrong with washing your hair once a month? I do it and I have no problems with hygiene whatsoever. I know that some of you couldn't imagine going that long without a wash, but everyone has different hair so it may not be the right regimen for you, but that doesn't mean that it's not the right regimen for everyone.

I think her hair is pretty but you can't tell me it doesn't smell after a while. She seems to love her oils and wigs which is a good thing. But it is mind boggling to me how nonchalant she is about washing her hair so infrequently. Just because she doesn't smell her hair doesn't mean it doesn't smell at all. I watch her video with fascination but I am also a little grossed out as well.

But if she likes it, I love it!!!!!!

okay (girl the eye makeup was killing me and I had to shut the video off lol) so I probably missed that part.

or...I was just distracted by the eye makeup.

either way.... nonononononononon!!!!!!!!!

It's one thing to do this, but why is she sharing this with people. That's definitely something you should keep to yourself.

I told SO and he was like....no.

I mean...think about it. You have to wash your body everyday. When you go out, you're breathing in all that dirty air and that stuff is getting on your skin. You have to wash your face at night.

So imagine all of that dirt and dusk and stuff settling on your hair. Not to mention your scalp. But some people massage the sebum around and that works for them, but after three weeks even my scalp gets that 'let's wash you' smell. It's not funky...just time for some water.

It might work for some because not every one sweats as heavy as some people. But for me I have got addicted to weekly washes even if it is only with conditioner. I can not go pass 2 weeks. I have thought about going a month to retain more length and leave my hair alone... But I can never make it lol

Wouldn't work for me either. I live for shampoo days which occur twice a week. I get a headache if I go longer than 3-4 days w/o washing my hair. Plus since I don't use moisturizers, I need moisture from washing to keep my hair happy. But it's really the massage with shampoo that leaves my scalp squeaky clean that is the highlight of my healthy hair journey. Everything else is just garnishing.

It falls on def ears. Folks will swear up and down that their month old unwashed scalp smells like fresh linen. Let 'em be.

Could NEVER be me. Never. My scalp would attack me, the irritation would be unbearable. Okay, I get it, everyone's different but I've NEVER come across someone that went more than a month without washing and didn't have some sort of funk ready to invade the nostrils of anyone that came close.

just imagining that scalp walking away. you made me laugh!!

I have always loved washing my hair so I dont see why someone would want to go more than 2 weeks let alone 6 months without shampoooing.

She has gorgeous hair and I wonder how many people desperate for long hair are gonna follow this.

wow i actually am ok with the idea of infrequent washing but even this is too much. 2 months and just a cowash?!

It may very well work for her but for me, no. My hair loves the clean environment and moisture. She seems hell bent on breaking as many "hair journey" rules as possible. Gorg hair though.

A couple of years ago I noticed that I was getting scabs on my scalp. I thought it was from twisting my locs to tight, but I wasn't twisting often. I started washing my hair weekly instead of every 2+ weeks and the scabs went away. Ever since then I have to wash my hair at least once a week to keep my scalp in check. And my hair thrives when I give it a good weekly washing.

But whatever works for her.

that is gross.
i realize a lot of people dont realize that your scalp is your skin:look: i hope she aint wating 2 months to wash anything else.

omg can you just imagine how her scalp must smell?

i used to braid guys hair in HS and you know them ninjas wwasnt washing their hair. the smell for all of them was gross:nono:
