Fotki Stalkers, what are you pet peeves about people's fotkis?

I doubt it. Why wouldn't it ask for a password, instead of indicating that the folder is empty.

Well mine says empty until you log into fotki.com. Now, I have it where you have to be on my friends list. I don't care if my hair buddies here look I just don't want the biker all up in my hair and stuff. I usually check and add them right away. For real, I will probably take it off, eventually. Every now and again I get noided, lol. I have bra, towel, and scratched faces pics btw.

How do you arrange the folders so you see the list of them on the left hand side? I am going batty trying to figure it out

Go to My Settings, look for the Folder section (under the Account Information section), and make these changes:

Show Tree: Auto or Yes, always
Show Albums in Tree: Yes

OK ... I don't get this one. Why would progress photos with dates be a pet peeve (just curious)? I like it when people date their photos. I know I do it in my Fotki. I think it helps people to see progression in the context of a "timeline".

1. People I have never seen before on fotki or forums inviting me to their locked fotki without giving me a pwd
2. Creepy face distortions. I don't mind folks blocking faces, but why make them look horrible and scary-looking? It detracts from the hair, IMO.
3. Pics with no titles, descriptions, dates.
4. Pics that are taken from long distances, are blurry, dark or any other type that doesn't show the hair well.
5. No regimen info included.

ITA. Those distortions are such a distraction I can't even focus on the hair. They actually take a lot of attention away from the hair.

i have learned a lot of fotki ettiquett from this thread. one quick question........ why all the locked folders? i dont understand advertising your fotki with a link in your siggy then keeping it locked.

Because people who are not paid members of LHCF have access to the HairCare threads and these people don't want just anyone seeing their fotkis. They can see the threads, but they can't see member's profiles, that's why the passwords are in the members' profiles.

ETA:: Passwords are a pain in the butt though... IMO... I don't wanna do a whole lotta work to see pics. I do sometimes, when the newsy part of me takes control

thanks for the reply hairapy but i still dont understand whats so private about hair pix. maybe one of the lockers can tell me. i was like that and i didnt wanna put em up but then my husband asked me why i was acting like i was on the run? and was i wanted or something? most of the ladies dont even show their face so what is there to hide?

I locked upmost of my fotki - because of Really strange visitors. I am sorry - I just had to.

It's a personal choice. For me I try and reply to all comments, even if it's thanks. I realy appreciate people stopping by and taking the time to look through my album. I just set aside 10-15 mins replying to comments, depending on how many are in there.

I had men with naked pics of thier wives, or hardcore porn on my fotki - leaving creepy comments. I got sick of it.

So - I locked it up. So Now - I just don't put it past someone that is a lurker or opportunist trying to look.

Awww... I can understand how you feel and I appreciate your honesty. Not a lot of people would admit that, I too kinda feel that way. That's why when I visit someone's fotki, I always, if I'm able to, leave a comment.

Sad to say , this is why i keep my album on lock down .. At one point over 150 persons visited my fotki on ONE day and i got absolutely NO comments. I felt awful. I decided if my hair is that ugly that noone can comment and at least say OH , then im locking it down.

Sometimes when too many people ask me for my pswd then I unlock it for like a week or so , but the same thing happens over 50 visitors no comments .. It's really discouraging

Yes.....when I first joined this really used to hurt my feelings...then I started looking at it different........Now that I can see who visits.....I smile when I see my frequent visitors checking up on me ...even though they don't leave a comment....

i can see that. i have been trying to leave comment for anyone that comes to see me. i have noticed people coming and not commenting, i did think it was a little strange. its important to feel good about what your doing. my mom didnt even want to see my pix and i was crushed. but that has always been my fams attitude. they have no idea what im sittin on though.....lol.

yeah if they are repeat visitors they must be fans. i wont be trippin of the quiet visitors but i have my eye out for the creeps samanthajones mentioned..........i hate creepy creeps.

but Traycee you and everyone else knows your hair is gorgeous ... Im still EH about my hair because I don't know what state it is in. I rarely see it for myself because it's always up and if people come to my fotki and don't say anything its like hmmm maybe I should just leave my hair up until I reach my goal,get a trim or something and then update
