Lucky for me I'm in the Use Up Your Stash challenge. Soooo I can't buy any product this month (whew). I wonder though if I talk my mom into buying it, if its cheating? :look:

That is SOOOOO cheating! Lol! Trying to find loopholes!!! :spank:

Has anyone seen anything Shea Moisture in the Baltimore area Walgreens? Please let me know. I love this line and don't want to miss out, but I haven't seen any in the Walgreens near me.

make sure you grab an ad when you go in, because i've been to 4 different walgreens (dont judge me :look: ) & none have signs up saying its BOGO.

Ohhhh Girl..I got my conditioner smoothie..and I felt like I was getting away with robbery. lol. I never in my life thought I would see it bogo. OH and how bout they didn't have the sale sign up? I like their nerve!

I know right!? I went to another Walgreens in my area (stalking) and noticed they had a price listing for $10.99, while the one across the street from me had it for $9.99 :nono: ...I guess I know which store I'll make my purchases.

I went to Walgreens today... finally, and found very limited products. They had 1 deep treatment mask, 1 curl enhancing smoothie, 1 conditioning milk, 2 shampoos and no moisture mist. But I got rainchecks. Make sure to get your raincheck because they will honor the sale when they get more in stock.

I was glad they didn't. More for me!!

A fellow natural was ringing me up and asked about the products.

Her: Are these pretty good products?
Me: Not really :look: I just buy them for the scent, heh heh... :giggle:

My Target didn't have any but the Walgreens sure did! No display but it was in the ethnic hair care section.

I got the C&H milk and smoothie plus the moisture shampoo and mask. They only had that and the mist. Not many of each product either.

I went to my car to open them up and smell and when I turned to look next to me, some dude was getting out of his car looking at me like I was crazy!

I have been to a couple of Walgreens so far. None of them have had signs. Only a couple of products were available at the first two. At the last one I went to, the lady was putting out new stock. If no/few items are available when you go, ask them when they will get new items in and come back on that day or get a rain check.
I will probably get a few more items on Friday or Saturday. :yep: I am not supposed to be buying any hair products. I had to sneak and buy these while the kids were in school (they tell every thang). If I get caught, the fact that they are BOGO, better get me off the hook. :giggle:
I used the shampoo, deep treatment mask, conditioning milk, and the help of a tangle teaser on my youngest DD's hair and it came out nice. It didn't take much time at all (she was trying to go outside and play with her friend). I didn't want to do her hair today, but she was looking a little crazy when she came home from school and so I went ahead and did it. Hopefully, no one will notice the extra products in the cabinet. :evillaugh:

I bought several jars of the smoothies for my daughters' hair and about 3 jars of the masque for my hair. There was only one bottle of the Argan Mist...got that too. I want the Hold and Moisture Mist, but all stores have been out of it. I have several other Walgreens I can hit up for those though :look:

Before you all go hunting at different Walgreens to see if they're having the sale, they post the weekly ads online. If you just type in your zip, you can see the weekly ad for the store you choose. I think it was on page 5 or 6 of my ad. If you don't see it listed, just type in your zip again and pick the next store and keep checking. Saves a trip if you don't want to call.

Thanks for the heads up ladies. I've been in the market for leave-in conditioners as that's the only part of my regimen I don't have down. I've been looking for something that moisturizes AND smells good, and it seems many products out there do either but rarely both.

I got the C&H Curl enhancing smoothie, C&H curl and style milk, and the Deep Treatment Masque. I LOVE how they smell :) I hope they're great with moisturizing.

Any texlaxed heads using these? How do they work for texlaxed/relaxed hair?

Thanks!

There is more than one type of mist and more than one type of milk?

Yes :yep: and no. There are two mists and 1 milk. There are basically 4 lines within this line. Here you go:
http://www.sheamoisture.com/files/SheaMoisture_Organic_Hair_Products_Info 8.18.10.pdf

The Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk has always existed, but to my surprise in their Organic Yucca & Baobab line they had a new Growth Milk. There were only 2 left, but I decided to get the Organic Yucca & Baobab Anti-Breakage Masque.

I had no idea they would be selling anything new. I would have bought it if it had said "Retention Lotion" because I have no plans of putting a hair milk on my scalp for growth  , but if it helps me retain the length I already have - well, that makes more sense.

But I'll gladly go back and buy it to show proof :giggle:

I picked up a Shea Moisture pamphlet as well and they had another item that was "Coming Soon" called Yucca & Baobab Growth Masque.

ETA: Found a pic on another website/blog -> natural pearl 1908's blog

I bought the Deep Treatment Masque and got a rain check for the Hold and Shine mist. There was no sign but it only rang up for $4.50.

I bought the deep treatment masque, curl smoothie and 2 curl and style milks... I've tried them all for the first time and i can honestly say this has helped me retain moisture in my hair unlike anything else! I'm in lurve!

And there was no BOGO sign near the products in any of the Walgreens stores i went to. I think they're trying to figure out whether the products will actually sell.

I def will be buying, though.

Looks like I will be making a run to Walgreens on my way to work in the morning. I need more of the mist & would like to try the shampoo.

Oh! it's all natural. I'm wondering how these products will work on my type 4 a/b hair. Since they're on sale, I'll stop by Walgreens on my way home from work. I'll have to use them regularly, before they go bad. They may not have preservatives.

More comments are welcome.

Thanks!

So I've only used the Curl Smoothie Custard thingy. And it kinda...sits on my hair. Like it's so thick. I'll put it on when my hair is wet (on the natural parts) and then leave it to dry about 60%...but after 60% dry, it'll still be white. ???? Am I using it wrong??

In other news, my mommy agreed to buy it for me! She's going today! :yay:

I tried my purchases last night. So far the styling milk and the treatment masque are okay with me. The smoothie on the other hand did nothing for my hair. I put it on dry hair and it just sat on it and was white. I suspect I would have to add a bit of water to loosen the consistency but I don't have time for that.

I'm going to exchange it for something else. The fragrance wasn't too strong for me.

ETA: Barbara. There is a symbol on the wrapper that shows it's good for 12 months. HTH.

qchelle I used the Curl Smoothie for the first time on Monday. You need VERY little. And when I say VERY little I mean VERY. I split my hair into about 6 sections and the first section I put about a dime size amount and it was waaaaay too much. It left a white coating on my hair. Luckily I was able to wipe enough off with my hands.I seroiusly put about a half dime amount on wet hair on each section and it was perfect.
