I haven't been doing much with my hair and I think that is working. There was a simple that I used to wear all the time. Over the past year or so I hadn't been able to wear it and it took a while for me to realize that it was because my ends weren't long enough to hold the style anymore. These past two weeks, I've tried it twice and I can put it in the style again! It'll be just a little bit more and I can keep it in without it falling out.

Just finished wet detangling. I didn’t do anything last week but slap that wig on my head.

this ingredients to die for deep conditioning is great at detangling. It’s marinating under this conditioning cap. I’ll be shampooing with AG boost shampoo for my first wash and then the Cule Fresh shampoo for my second wash. Followed by K18 hair mask. I’ll let my hair air dry in twists then blow dry tomorrow for a trim.

Washing my hair more frequently helped me realize that my crown is dehydrated. It really stood out when I went to style my hair for my WNG. After applying my LI, I used a shower cap to assist my hair in soaking up the products (idea from @toaster from another thread). It worked really well everywhere except my crown. Now, I know I have to give that area some TLC.

It’s always good to consider your most fragile, breakage prone hair area. Then use that as the baseline for treating the rest of the hair.

I dusted my hair a few weeks ago and honestly I think I need to do a trim. My hair has been exceptionally dry this week and I am afraid to comb or brush it at this point. It is tangled and even adding water and moisturizer does not seem to be helping.. I plan on giving it some TLC this weekend.

I have one major thing I've changed in my routine lately. I'm finally working on my seborrheic dermatitis. It's been taking over my face plus regular and fungal acne. So I've started using anti dandruff shampoos, shampooing 3 times and taking spironolactone.

After a few weeks, I see a little difference in my oily scalp. I can go 6 days of not washing without total crustiness and bumps, but my scalp is still oily/waxy. I now get to enjoy my hair blooming into a curly fro. I'm kind of looking like a cross between Kaleigh Garris and Carlito.

Also, I'm not sure if my ends are good or bad. I've looked through them. They didn't look damaged or covered in knot or splits. The last time I blow dried my hair, the back section looked and felt weird. My ends felt wiry and were super frizzy. It could have been my blow dry technique (comb attachment) and the products I used. I wont be blow drying again until the 1st check-in in April. I'll probably get a dust or trim come April.

Hi, have you tried a moisture deep conditioning schedule?

Hi, have you tried using coconut oil on your scalp for a period time?

Stop frontin, you know me!
We are about 6 weeks into the year and 6 weeks away from the first check in! How is everybody doing?

i still have my hair in these mini twists, this is the end of week 3 and while my hair still looks and feels okay, I’m ready to wash this weekend
I'm redoing my individuals this weekend. I intended to keep them in for 12 weeks but decided to redo them after 8 weeks instead. One day I will get the courage to keep them in longer lol. Hair is feeling good staying on top of my moisture game.

I finally put my hair in mini twists. My goal is to keep them in for the month.

The first picture is yesterday morning before washing and the second picture is last night with an ayurvedic treatment in. The side and that back middle section are what I need to work on the most.

I’d like to join if it’s not too late!

Natural, Relaxed, Texlaxed: Natural, soon to be relaxed!

Current Length: shoulder length in the front between shoulder length and apl in the back ( growing out a curly cut grrr)

Goal Length: full APL

Plan to reach goal length: I used to be bsl then once I got there I neglected my hair for years and gradually had to cut it to the length it is now. In September I decided to go back to what works: weekly deep conditioning, trims every 12 weeks, keeping on top of protein, moisturizing and sealing and henna every 4-6 weeks, I’ll be sticking with this plan.

Current Regimen: wash every Sunday & deep condition under the hooded dryer, alternating between moisture and moisture/protein balance dc’s. Apogee two step every 6 weeks, to style either blowdry straight or flexi rod set

Relaxed Regimen: same as above minus the direct heat to style instead air dry or some other low manipulation style under the hooded dryer. Plus one hot oil and cowash mid week.

Protective Style schedule:

Jan- Feb- protective style for 6 weeks, likely knotless box braids. low manipulation for the other 2 weeks

March-June low manipulation styles: roller sets, air drying etc

July- August protective style: braids/twists for 6 weeks, low manipulation the other 2

September-- December, low manipulation styles

Products currently using, I rotate pending hair needs:

SHAMPOOS:
Clarifying shampoo- ORS Creamy aloe

Moisturizing shampoo- Keracare moisturizing detangling shampoo

protein shampoo: As I Am Strengthening Long and Luxe Shampoo

TGIN miracle Honey ( Moisture)

LEAVE INS

Knot Today ( Moisture- GOAT )

TGIN Miracle Repair( protein - unsure thus far if I like it)

CONDITIONERS

Keracare humecto ( moisture, also used as a dc)

Hello hydration herbal essence ( moisture/ cowash)

ORS replenishing conditioner( moisture/ protein balance also used as a DC)

Apogee double moisture ( moisture)

OILS
Avocado( hot oil treatment - may try as a sealant)

Coconut ( hot oil treatment)

Alma (hot oil treatment)

Olive oil (hot oil treatment)

JBCO( scalp)

MOISTURIZERS
S curl ( moisture)

As I Am So Much Moisture ( moisture)

Hawaiian silky 14 n 1 ( moisture/ protein)

SEALANTS
Blue Magic ( winter)

Melanin haircare oil blend ( GOAT)

TREATMENTS
Apogee two step- strong protien

Henna- strength and color

Olaplex entire line- bond rebuilder

PROPOSED RELAXER SCHEDULE - about 4 x a year or every 10-12 weeks

Two weeks tomorrow since I've been in this latest protective style.

The stylist trimmed about 2 inches off all around so , we will see what it looks like when I come out of this. I plan on leaving this in 4 weeks and then getting another protective style april 9th. That will lead me into May and that will be washngo season for me.

Relaxer day tomorrow, so nervous and excited!

I detangled (probably should’ve done this a few days ago) and based my scalp with dax, although I realized I made a mistake, I moisturized today with TGIN rose water spray and realized it has green tea extract in it:drunk: so hopefully that doesn’t cause burning! I got that sensitive scalp stuff to add in to chemical treatments at Sally’s hopefully that helps lol.

It went amazing thank you! Used SE mild for 22 minutes, I still have texture but it’s easy to get a roller set or blow out for a straight look. And wavy when air drying

No burning, and my hair feels amazing, even my stylist said it didn’t feel like it was just chemically treated- lurking here for 6 months paid off :bouncy: I’m still experimenting but, loving the relaxed life.

Thank youuu. here is a picture of my hair dried in two Bantu knots under the hooded dryer part of the way then air dried the rest of the way (needed moisture) and air dried in a wash and go- with LOTS of scrunching and some fluffing. After being natural for 10 years I’m obsessed with my relaxer :lachen:
