Thanks for the reply.

I'm actually looking for a little crunch.

I'm trying to figure out how to shellac my hair for strong hold, for several reasons: For occasional wng ponytails when I'm just rushed and gotta do it. And for deep wave curlformer sets. I need my coily, super elastic, super coily, 4a pen-sized coils to stay laid out in those curlformers.

And your words above make me feel SO MUCH BETTER about my issues with KCCC and its snobby "I only want KCKT" ways and general finickiness.  Thanks!

I've been putting my huge bottle of Curly Magic on one of the boys' heads. Let me move it back to our bathroom to remind myself to try it again.

Yes it's very picky lol. It works well with the shea moisture coconut and hibiscus curl cream. That's another holy grail. I was too busy trying to use boutique products to really love on that one like I should have but it never did me wrong as a leave in under gels. Not so great as a styler alone. Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha gave me that crunch that you may be looking for. Have you tried that one?

Are you talking about the Curl Enhancing Smoothie? Yes, you are right: It paired well all around, now that you mention it, though I agree it was very meh otherwise/alone.

No, I have not tried that Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha, and now you got me wantin' to get in my car and drive down to the black-owned BSS run by the very rude owner, deal with her mouth and attitude, and put down cash for it. In efforts to keep my PJism at bay (my husband would say "where it's at"), I have tried to stay away from that brand. There are so many brands in these states. So many.

Thank you so much for the recommendation. I'm going to go watch some YT video demos on it.

I tried the ouai smoothing shampoo, conditioner, and smooth spray last night to set my hair for the first time.

I wasn’t sure the brand was for our hair but it worked so well! My hair feels clean and light and not weighed down. I was using the devacurl products before but I think those are better for styling a wash and go or twist out. My hair felt sogunked up.

Now it feels airy and soft.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention Ouai products on here lol. Yeah they aren't bad, the masque is anyway but it's expensive.

Update:

Bought me some Aloe Vera Powder and Moringa Powders last week and just waiting for them to arrive :yep:.
Okay let's see what's next on my list - I need some Rhassoul and Bentonite clay. I scratched the triphala powder from my list because I really don't think I need that one anymore since I have shikakai and amla powders in my stash. If I change my mind, I just might get it.

I am saving up for a really good treadmill right now. A great one I have my eyes on cost almost $2,600. I will be diligently working on this one after I am done getting all of my powders and BF hair product sale items :yep:.
