I'm scared..Fotki

Now that we have the new option of seeing guest on Fotki...Does any one else have strange men on their guest list that you know is not interested in black hair....When I saw it..... I clicked on his Fotki and he has albums of biker women....

This has me thinking about locking my Fotki to friends only.....Has anyone else experience this??????????

Girl, you never know who is looking! Can I just share a quick story? I have picture on Flickr, too. I have a knitting and crochet album. I was showing off in a photo a bracelet that I had knit with wire and beads. I got a comments saying something like "Nice bracelet. You have lovely fingers and your wrist would look good in a gold-tone Bulova watch." I was like, hmmm, interesting. I went to the commenter's page and he didn't have any photos of his own, so I went to see photos he had saved under his "Favorites." Let me tell you, there were 28, TWENTY-EIGHT!!!, pages of favorites, including my pic, all of women's hands and wrists. Sometimes the women were showing bracelets like me, sometimes it just so happened their wrists were included in the photos. Sometimes he'd just have a photo of a watch saved and his comment would be like "this would look so nice on a woman's wrist" . I was like erplexed Just to say, you never know.

I had a strange guest in my fotki today. He doesn't have an avatar photo. He has a locked album titled "a rochester new york slut". Under that it says "just a slut i met at the new york state fair". The album is empty and it was created today.

At first I had a password to my fotki, but I decided to unlock it. I figured nothing strange would happen since I don't have pictures where you can see my face or body. After reading mwedzi's story about the hand/wrist guy I think I'll lock my album again.

i don't need to know who's visiting my page...and i don't need anyone else to know that i'm visiting their page. now i'm gonna have to keep a pw on albums which i don't wanna do. I like having mine open for those who wanna see and aren't paid members.

I've never had any issues and it doesn't scare me one bit. I'll only lock down if I personally feel threatened in any way, but for now I don't.

I don't mind the feature and I think it allows you to further make a decision on whether or not you want to lock your album. I mean before, most would probably assume that all of those hits were from hair board members when these same strange folk could have been the ones blowing up our pages. Now we can see for sure.

I don't mind it at all...cause if I see a bunch of strange guests, I'm locking it up too.

After reading about some of the experiences ladies here have had with their albums, I don't have the comment feature opened, and my password is only given to people who have access to my profile....they have to ask. Unfortunately, there are a lot of mean, nasty, sick people out there....and they're creeping onto the forum here as well. I love it that we can "stalk" someone's fotki and oogle their pics and fantasize about growth for ourselves, but at the same time there are people who will stalk for different reasons, and I, frankly, don't want to deal with it.

I just want to thank you ladies for sharing your knowledge and your progress with me. My pw is always available to you, too.

This is exactly why I removed that option in my Fotki album settings.

Yes, I also experienced this the same day the option was made available. It is kinda creepy. It made me think. There is a guy at work that has a hair fetish and he loves long hair on a black woman. These guys that visit the fotki may be like that. Maybe they are just creepy nasty men. LOL! Who knows, but it made me very afraid and I also may pw protect my albums to be on the safe side. You are not alone on this one.....

Thanks LynnieB. I can't bring myself to lock my fotki up. I don't show my face and I don't pose in a bra. And personal pics are locked and the pw is only given to close close friends. I opened my fotki almost as a service because I was so grateful to the ladies who had open albums, especially those with natural hair. There albums made such a difference in my life and inspired me and you make this wonderful connection with so many women across america and the globe. I'm not letting a few weirdos keep me from sharing my pictures and making friends.
