Where Are All My Type 3 Naturals?!!

@KinksAndInk I wish I could rollerset weekly as well again. My last roller set took me 1 hour to wash, DC & roll and another 2 hours to dry. That just can't be my life anymore. I'm tired just thinking about it. I will do it every 3 months though (full rollerset) and TRY to sneak in a flexi rod set when I can. I really don't wanna do that though. At this point, I'm really only able to commit to every 3 months. I got spoiled with my quick summer regimen which takes around 30 minutes, and has yielded me the same retention.

I love seeing all these lovely heads of hair that retain with wash and gos. You guys are giving me life :) My hair looks super awesome today. I am realizing that the wash and go looks better after a few days. I wasn't allowing myself to get to the good spot lol

I'm starting to believe that the reason we can retain well with wash and goes is because....it's not really a "style" per se....it's how our hair naturally grows out of our heads...we just capture the shape with our styling products to control the frizz.

Yeah, I usually like Day 2 hair! More volume and softness and fluffy but still defined! :yep:

I think I have been believing that only a protected style retains hair. Really what's the purpose of having hair that is never seen? I adore protective styles but want to see my hair sometimes. I'm arm pit and need another years worth of growth to get back to where I was prior to set backa. Half time weave half wash and go

@KinksAndInk How long does a set take you? I can shave off an hour of drying if I use larger rollers but the results does not yield me straight roots and the curls will fall completely.
If I focus, I can set in an hour. My roots will straighten with the slightest bit of tension so I usually don't have to worry about that. I just switched dryers so I haven't tested drying time but my old dryer was an hour. Hoping the new one is about the same.

@lulu97 and @KinksAndInk, I want to do a rollerset at least once per month but I am struggling with doing it myself. I think it will be good part of my winter regimen. Maybe to give myself a break from doing my hair I will go to the salon and have them rollerset for me. Have either of you air dried with a rollerset or is sitting under the dryer a must?

When I use magnetic rollers, I use the dryer. Perm or flexi rods I just air dry and I get smooth results. I could probably air dry with magnetics with decent results but I've never tried.

Oh Gosh, hello beautifuls. I fell off the face of the Earth it seems lol.
Been soooooo busyyyyy!
Fall is rolling in, is anyone changing up their regimen???

I'm still wigging it for fall. I have given my hair a break from wigs for the past 3 days. I'm going to wash and maybe roller set for stretch and to dust my ends today since I'll be busy tomorrow (my normal wash day). I'll be breaking open a new wig on Friday.

I need to be more consistent with taking pics. My hair is growing and I can see the difference but it's not registering in my brain for real. Does that even make sense lol?

@KinksAndInk, totally makes sense...I normally can't see progress till someone else mentions it!

OMG! Who else knows about the Eucalyptus Mint conditioner by OGX?? I used it this evening for my scalp after I shampooed. It stopped the itching and seriously calmed everything down!

However, it's not very moisturizing...so I followed up with my La Bomba conditioner (Dominican) for some nourishment.

I think I could use a protein treatment, too. :look:

Hey ladies! I'm still trucking along with my fall/winter regimen of hiding my hair. Will be switching wigs this week. I'm also hoping to rollerset my hair but I'm not sure that will actually happen. I may have to push it back to next week.

How's everyone's hair doing?

Has anybody in here tried Bouncecurl before? I tried it but my hair was a big sticky mess! :nono:

I figure I must've used it wrong. It's a light cream gel...but my hair came out SUPER dry and crunchy! I could washed it out this morning and used my regular leave in and gel and my hair is so happy! :yep:

Look here, Im bringing this thread back, Does any of you here use DevaCurl products???
How do you like it?
Most important do you use the Curly or Super Curly line???

I was meaning to bump this thread the other day but got too lazy to look for it :lachen: I'm getting my regimen ready for spring/summer. I may wash daily or every 2 days. Nothing else going on with my hair really.

Hey Ladies! For the summer I am going to do modified WnG's, I typically don't like my hair on the first day because I go for definition and shingle the strands so it looks flat to me. The summer humidity helps my hair swell by day 2 and 3 and it gets bigger as the week goes along. I will probably float between WnG's, wet buns, French braids and twists for the summer.

Same here, not the biggest day 1 fan of WnGs... I honestly think my hair hates buns. My hair loves to be set free, or shall I say my scalp.... Feels like it grows faster when my hair isnt pulled back, but I want to keep my ends tucked so I have no idea what I might do.

What is more professional for a job interview- a bun or a wash and go? Those are the only styles I know how to do and I have a job interview tomorrow. Should I wear my third day hair in a bun or just wash it and wear it down?

@HaveSomeWine, are you interviewing for a corporate setting? Personally I would wear a nice sleek low bun, it looks classic, pulled together and will go with any suit (pants or skirt) or dress. Right or wrong in the corporate world there can be a bias against curly or natural hair. I say get the job then rock whatever style you want as long as it fits with the company culture. Good luck!
