July 2017: Hits & Misses

Hit:
TGIN green tea leave-in.

It instantly softens my hair...like on contact. After looking over the ingredients, I figured that it would be a winner and I am glad that I finally gave it a try. I used it to do a rollerset and it gave great slip and manageability, things that I look for when rollersetting my dense hair. Not a huge fan of the smell, but it is light enough not to be offensive. Now about this damn bottle....

Miss:
The TGIN leave-in bottle. Sigh...WTH TGIN! I can tell that I am gonna have to beat the bottle against the counter top when it gets to the half way point. It is made of the hardest plastic. You can barely squeeze the product out. They really need to rethink that bottle.

Continued hit:
Kindred Butters Joe's Joe DC :2inlove:

That TGIN bottle! @rileypak warned me, but it still irritated me. My bottle is very full just SITTING ON A SHELF. Uggh.

@AgeinATL

I mean, really?!? I can't imagine how someone with carpel tunnel or arthritis could possibly use this. If they were smart, they'd do something about it. I've seen complaints all over the internet about that bottle.

I have. I don't remember if they responded or not because it's been a long time but I know we're definitely not the only ones who think it's terrible.
Honestly, I think they're holding on to their aesthetic but that leave in should be in a squeeze tube.
If you want to start an email campaign, I will join in even though I don't use it. I can email them links to complaints around the 'net.

Initial Hit: AVJ

I like it. It really shuts my cuticles down. I misted my hair very lightly this am prior to bunning, when I took it down to sleep my hair is still damp. That has not happened in a long time. And both my textures like it, ( very surprised at this) softens and reduces frizz on the natural texture and gives body to the relaxed parts. Wasn't expecting that.

I won't sing from the mountain top just yet, I wanna see how my hair feels after a week but so far

What brand are you using?

Continued Hits:
Curl Origin bamboo blossom split end serum ( so sad this was discontinued)
HTN daily growth lotion
APB LI sprays
Oyin hair dew.

Both a Hit & Miss:
J. Monique's Coco almond hair milk.
This is a lovely moisturizing LI/moisturizer. It absorbs well and keeps my hair moisturized for a few days. The reason I can't love it is the scent. The fragrance is sickeningly sweet with slight floral undertones that lingers for awhile and it makes me nauseous.

@curlyhersheygirl
I hate when certain products make me queasy. :ohwell:

SD's Avocado DC'er, MJ's Rapid Recovery and SM's Anti Breakage (hated it:down:).

These three recently come to mind.:barf:

All three made me feel like I was going to hurl.:nono:

That SM Antil Breakage does smell horrible. I thought I was going throw up too. One of the worst smelling products I've ever come across.

My stomach hurts just thinking about it lol. Absolutely horrible.

I thought I was the only one. How does ANYONE use it?

DISGUSTING, repulsive odor. Just whyyyyyyyyy????????

It confused me so.

*feeling queasy at the memory*

BREAK THROOUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!

Yes, @KinkyRN! Soooooo glad for you.

THIS. IS. HUGE!!!!
Yezzz! Now I am going to go back and examine all the ingredients of the products I used on wash day to see what is common. I prepooed with coconut oil, shampooed with SM lo po shampoo, lo po condish for rinse out, Mielle Organics DC and the shea moisture combo.
