21 Day Regimen Challenge!

It seems as if some of us are having trouble sticking to our regimens which should not be since we are supposed to create our own regimen based on what we can do. So I was thinking it takes 21 days to create a habit (or so they say) So maybe if for 21 days we stick to our regimen perfectly it will become a HABIT and setbacks will be less likely as well as frequent bouts of laziness.
ALSO THIS WILL BE A WAY TO SEE IF YOUR REGIMEN IS REALISTIC FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE ESPECIALLY NEWBIES.

This Challenge will begin on Sunday, August 23, 2009 and last for 3 weeks (21 days) end date Saturday, September 12, 2009.

Rules

1.Post your regimen before August 23rd.
2.Update us TWICE A WEEK on all you have maintained and any problems.
3.At the end of the challenge post your new regimen is it the same or have you decided to add or change.

THIS SHOULD BE BENEFICIAL AND EYE OPENING HHG!

( This was my regimen for over two years but after this time I have learned new things and have also simplified) This regimen helped me immensely ( I now have MBL hair)but hair growth is a process and we always have to make adjustments so I will post my new regimen shortly.

MY REGIMEN

Hair type 3c/4a relaxed. (I relax about 4 times a year and hope to be switching to a lye relaxer.) UPDATE: Last relaxer July 2, 2007 and I am hopefully TRANSITIONING.

Morning: MOISTURIZE with BB's oil moisturizer and S-Curl ( I Skip the S-Curl when my hair is freshly relaxed, roller set or flat ironed)
SEAL with EVOO (olive oil) there are also lots ofoils out their that truly promote growth try a good one here. Style.

Before Bed: MOISTURIZE with BB's oil moisturizer and S-Curl ( I Skip the S-Curl when my hair is freshly relaxed , roller set or flat ironed)
SEAL with EVOO (olive oil)
Pin up hair and put on silk scarf.

On Tuesday Night: (Pick a day that works for you)
SHAMPOO I only use a small amount of shampoo and run it through my hair while in the shower.Rinse well.
CONDITION apply generous amount of conditioner. Rinse quickly.
DEEP CONDITION apply Queen Helenes Cholesterol or Organic Root Stimulators' replinishing pac. Put on plastic cap, Sit under hooded dryer for 20 minutes. Rinse. Squeeze out excess water.
LEAVE IN apply small amout of Infusium 23.
AIR DRY
Continue with Before bed regime.

Friday Night: (Pick a day that works for you)
CO-WASH I apply conditioner and Rinse quickly.
Squeeze out excess water.
LEAVE IN apply small amout of Infusium 23.
AIR DRY
Continue with Before bed regime.

Every month: CLARIFY with a clarifying shampoo.

Growth Aids None

Supplements A pre-natal vitamin (I am nursing) when I stop nursing I will take a regular daily multi-vitamin. (for overall health really). I also try to eat healthy and drink water.

As needed I use Aphogee treatment.for Damaged hair. This is new for me, so far so good.

NOTES: Suave shampoos and conditioners work fine. I love to wear protective styles but I also enjoy my hair by wearing it down when I have a fresh relaxer, roller set or flat iron. Sometimes I do the baggy method under my scarf at night. I regularly give myself scalp massages.

I had a good reggie last year however, I slipped away from it. I need to refocus-

Relax my hair twice a year every six months again.- I had 2 relaxers this year one in March/June- My next one is 1-1-10.

Once a week- Saturday Night
Pre-poo hair with 100% EVOO & Patience Hair oil under the dryer-
Wash and Deep Condish with Aphogee

Protien Treatment every 6 weeks.

Use a hair color rinse as needed.

Moisturize hair daily with Cantu-Shea Butter

Every other night or two Beemine/ JBCO.

Wear hair in nice buns and braid outs.

Daily massages.

I'm in...here's what i started this week, so it's perfect timing to keep it up and see if it's actually working.

Daily vitamins (biotin, multi, acai powder, chia seeds)

Megatek every other day with scalp massage (mixed with a TINY bit of infusium moisturizer to make it watery and coconut oil)

Daily moisturizing (coconut oil)

As you all can see, i'm keeping it simple. I was doing to much the past few weeks and my hair paid the price, so now i'm trying to find the place between doing nothing like ive been doing before June, or finding what's perfect and having GREAT hair.

I needed this...

My reg is in my sig, but I need to tweak it. I've been roller setting lately so this is what I'll do...
1x week
Pre-poo with EVOO
Wash with Bonners
DC with Pantene RN Mask
Moisturize with OR olive oil cream
Seal with coconut oil

everyday...
Spray mist and mixture of water and conditioner before bed and reroll in soft rollers. Seal with coconut oil.

I'll wear my hair up in a messy bun w/ bang

Count me in...

Once/wk

Shampoo hair(Clarify if needed first)-I use many types of shampoos, but for the purposes of kiss and the reggie, I will only use one(which will help me use it up as well)
a. Nexxus Therappe Shampoo or Theratin Shampoo

Protein Conditioner 2x a month-Aphogee 2 minute

Moisture DC- Nexxus Humectin or Elasta QP DPR-11

Leave in Conditioner- Nexxus Leave in Headress or Lacio Lacio

Seal Leave in w/ Coconut Oil and Chi Silk Infusion

I have been rollersetting pretty much all summer, so I will continue with this...

Spray hair lightly with diluted setting lotion

Set with magnetic rollers...smaller ones for a curly set, or large gray or black ones for a "wrapped flat ironed look"
or
Set with flexirods

Repeat this reggie 1x per week or as needed!

Nightly and in the morning....moisturize hair as needed, with HE LTR sealed with coconut or castor oil...cover set at night with silk bonnet.

I'm in too. I'm pretty new and I've been working on my regimen and finally getting an idea of what works for me. This could change by Sunday, but thus far:

Phytophanere vitamins daily
Prepoo overnight w/oils 2x wk
Wash with Phyto shampoo 1x wk
Cowash 1x wk w/AO Honeysuckle Rose
DC w/heat 1x a wk Lustrasilk shea butter and avocado oil
Leave-in: Giovanni Direct
Air Dry
Protein when needed
Clarify 1x a month
Moisturize and seal ends every night

ETA:
Okay changing it up a little:

After the weekly DC w/heat, I'm adding Porosity Control. Used it last night with great results. I'm also taking chlorella and spirulina.

Im in, I'll be back to post my regi...

I can't half think I am so sleepy!

Okay I am back

My current regi:

-Co-wash daily or every other day using mainly White Rain Tropical Coconut and once with Giovanni

-While still in the shower apply condish and castor oil mix and bun it

-Every 2 weeks I shampoo my hair with baking soda

*I need to add deep condition into this regi :headscratch:

I think I'll deep condition every three weeks, that seem like not too much but just enough.

I currently have my hair flat ironed and will be cowashing it later this week, so my regi for this style is:

Moisturize ends with shea butter every day and braid down into 2 french braids when in the house and when going to bed.

Either wear hair in a loose braid out or bun; don't comb or brush it.

Count me in please!!

I know the actual products used will probably change because I like trying new combinations for my DC's but here is my regimen.

Diet/ Exercise:
Daily Vitamins
3L of water
High Protein Diet (aiming for 100 grams a day)--Starting Monday
Exercise 30 minutes a day---Starting Monday

Hair- Weekly:
Prepoo with Hot Oil (usually EVOO/JBCO Mix)
Shampoo
DC (alternating Protein and Moisturizing)
Rollerset (will be flat-ironing or blowing out my roots though)

Hair- Daily:
moisturize ends and edges and tie with scarf

Every 8th Wash: BKT

I'm giving myself 3 heat passes and I'm using one of them today. I wear my hair down usually or in a messy bun, I'm not too strict about protective styling. If I can keep this up until the first of the year I think I'll be posting a great update thread in January.

I'm in!!!! I just found my dream regimen last nite so the timing is divine.

My hair is doing so well my new growth has disappeared :look:

1.L'huille maskreti and olive mixed into my deep conditioner
2.Aussie Deeeeep Conditioner mixed with NTM Mask
3. Quemets Amla and Olive Heavy cream
4. Organix Coconut Milk serum
5. Lotta Body Setting Lotion
**optional - 2 parts megatek mixed with 2 parts coconut oil in an applicator bottle

Tools - Shower Comb, detangling comb, paddle brush, 6 large rollers, large satin scarf, applicator bottles for mixtures.

Blue's 12 Step Disappearing New Growth Regimen (if anyone else tries this lemme know how it works)

1. i section my hair and apply the oil/deep conditioner mix on DRY hair making sure to coat all of it from root to tip

2. then i sit under the dryer for 30 minutes to let mixture penetrate (will steam under dryer next time for greater results)

3. when i come out of the dryer i detangle my hair and at this point the l'huille maskreti has coated and lubricated my hair so well that you cant even tell whats new growth in the comb anymore  the slip is incredible

Optional - *ive started applying a mix of megatek and coconut oil to my temples nape and to my roots 5 minutes before jumping into the shower because i loved the results of MT before my shedding fiasco a few months ago. thanks to the l'huille maskreti pre poo I was able to add MT back to my regimen and am overjoyed!

4. i jump in the shower and wash out my hair with the Aussie/NTM Mask mix (heavy on the Aussie, with just a lil of the Mask since its concentrated)

5. i continue to co-wash and detangle under the water (virtually no shedding!) till hair is clean, apply some aussie to my ends as a leave in, massage a lil into my scalp and get out the shower

6. the Qhemets Alma & Olive is added to my nape and temples.

7. i seperate my hair in 6 sections and apply more quemets to my roots and ends as i go

8. i put in 6 large rollers (with some Lotta Body on my ends for smoothness) 2 in front, 2 in my crown and 2 in the back of my head...

9. once my 6 rollers are in i go under my $9 bonnet dryer for like an hour which only dries the roots really  but thats the point...to get my roots dry in sections so i can moisturize them before going into a ponytail

10. i come out the dryer....apply some Organix coconut milk serum to my now dry roots and detangle with my fingers...a dab of oil in sections that need it is also a good idea

11. then i comb my still damp ends back into a ponytail with a shower comb and paddle brush and detangle my ends only with the detangling comb

12. seal and baggy my ends with some oil put on a satin scarf.

the next morning/an hour or two later....i have NO new growth....i mean none....even if i feel a slight wave deep in the middle of my hair its so smooth and lubricated that it feels like im only 2 wks post rather than 7 :lick:
