Im 14 wks post but my new growth seems short somehow. Like is should be longer . This tired half weave Im wearing to work is saving my life. It may sound bad but these ppl dont know my hair is HAM. lol. Just cowash, black tea rinse and DC x1 wk. Using jherri juice and sealing with oil. Just trying to hang in there. I am not sure when I will relax.

My extension braids are helping me keep my hands out of my hair right now. I really need to try and keep my hair braided for the rest of the year.

So i will be using my MN more often!! Just in that area,
This will start after my texturizer touch up. I am 13 weeks post and my hair is strting to break again. So with that said it will be on July 14!!! I will show before and after pics. My protective style I have been in is twist outs!!

i am so so sad to hear about those edges, Epiphany braids.

have you ever tried jbco with the MN?

they say both are great for the edges and i can testify that they work well. whatever is used, consistency is key.

please baby those edges. (maybe baggying at night can help, too!)

I think I am gonna rock braid outs the rest of the summer. I like the big hair and my edges get a break. Plus I can make it last multiple days.

I havent updated in a while.

So I trimmed my hair last wk and it came out really good. My hair looks surprisingly thick. I have been battling thin hair since my journey began so I was really shocked when I straightened my hair after my trim and it didnt look see through. I dont know if it was the trim or wet wrapping before I straightened.

I think that henna def had something to do with it though. For the past few wks I have been hennaing once a wk pretty much out of bordem. I get on the boards or youtube and see all that pretty hair and it makes me want to mess in mine. Instead of doing something that may damage it like straightening it I was doing henna treatments or conditioning treatments. Maybe that contributed to my hairs turn around. I just hope it stays thick and wasnt just some optical illusion.

Heres a before trim and after trim pic

Here is a pic of my hair in jan before I started hennaing

I recently had my edges rebraided and saw noticeable new growth. I think I will be pleased with where I am in September.

Been using an MN/Sulfur mix for a few weeks but I'm sure if I see any extra gowth yet. Still baggying every night and I'm getting great retention. Keep up the good work everyone!

Finally took down my double strand twists after 30 days. i really loved them and i think it was a nice break fro my fro. i'll be rocking protective styles for the rest of the summer. also, i started using the kimmaytube leave in, using afroveda as the creamy base. i have to say that i'm pleasantly surprised. i'm past the pj stage so i might stick with this.

I've been trucking along with my hair. The past couple of weeks I've been airdrying and one time I flat ironed afterwards. I did a protein treatment with Aphogee 2 step the time I flat ironed. Other than the week that I flat ironed I've been PSing with braidouts, twistouts, and buns. I'll be relaxing some time next week (12 weeks post as of the 8th).

I realized after my protein treatment that my regimen needs more protein, so I'll be adding Aphogee 2 min reconstructor every or every other week. Even though the Nexxus Humectress has hydrolyzed keratin that is not enough protein to keep the protein/moisture balance.

I got a summer spurt starting the beginning of July, hopefully it continues
I haven't had one yet. Just getting my regular old .5"... :(
BUT I think I may have one when I check this month because I've been in Texas for the past couple of weeks and think the heat and humidity has been doing something because the hair on the rest of my body is growing like crazy. I shaved my pits (and elsewhere) right before I left and I had a mini-forest there after like 3 days... :lachen:
Maybe the problem is that I wasn't going out enough into the heat to get all the benefits of the summer? Who knows? But if this is the key, I am going to make sure I find time to go outside for at least an hour everyday for the rest of the summer.

i haven't done an official length check but I don't feel like my hair is any longer. :nono:

the final verdict will be in three weeks from now. until then i'm moisturizing and sealing everyday. i'm using the kimmay leave in which has kept my fro so soft and moisturized.
